Vinney caught Malkin with a cheap shot last year after Malkin avoided a hit from him. A group of players come together and few seconds after everything calms down Vinney nails Malkin in the face. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ1pmT6WbgU
Malkin used to do it a lot. Still does it from time to time. I'm waiting for him to caught a knee to the face and its most likely going to be 100% his fault.
great now Brendan Smith is out, how long until Holland checks to see what Doug Crossman is doing? I hate to keep beating a dead horse but how did Kenny not see this coming. weve always had depth on the forward lines but with Lidstrom and Stuart gone(and Coliacovo and Kronwalls injury history) how could you not address this more in our extremely long offseason. there was plenty of $$$ to spend- who cares if you have to overpay just get some able bodies back there. for the exception of one guy we have nothing but 6th defenseman and thats not gonna cut it. I dont even see it getting addressed in the draft, they continually draft forwards and goalies.....gonna be a long season
NHL can't have their award ceremonies in Vegas because of availabilities and the changed schedule this year...nice job guys. Maybe have the ceremony in White Horse this year?
Hawks have 6 of 8 pts. That's all they needed, 6pts, for this trip for them to be in a very good spot for when they start some regular home games. Still two more games, going to PHO, then NAS. PHX is still rounding out their roster. Nashville with a huge win last night. Thought last night was going to be shootout last night but the game calmed down. SJ ran out of gas after playing 3 in 4, we're starting to see quite a bit of that.
Found out some bad news last night. It turns out Marty Havlat spends out of his pocket to buy a suite for the year at the HP Pavilion (many pesos). Then he gives the suite to a kid with a severe disease or illness each and every game. I thought he just sat in bank lobbies counting his money. Anyway, it's bad news because it will be tougher for me to rip on him.
Desjardins hit Mayers up high last night and got tossed from the game. Keith gave him one of those buddy-f@@@@@ passes and Mayers had his head down the whole time and Desjardins lit him up and knocked him a zip code over. While it was close to a legitimate hit, it was still high and may have qualified as a hit on an unsuspecting player. While I blame Mayers and Keith more than Desjardins for that hit, Desjardins has to know by now that if you line somebody up and hit them high (even close to the head), you're setting yourself up to get called for hit. It's obnoxious, but it's been like that the last 2 years. Desjardins has to take some responsibility for it. Won't surprise me if Mayers is out for a while, he didn't look to sharp after the hit.
