But is the Western Conference, overall, softer than the Eastern Conference, with the exception of Ducks, Kings and Sharks? If they're softer, depending on how that's defined, they are better than the East in other areas. The West has usually had a good edge in play versus the East in recent years and the Cup wins are as evenly split as they can be going back the last 10 finals.
I think the Ducks are for real this year. Definitely playoffs (unless I just jinxed them) since the have played very well against the Kings and the Sharks.I don't think anybody questions their top 2 lines but I think the Ducks' depth will be why people question their abilitiy to succeed. Seems like they're running into a nice goalie problem there too. I like Big bad Bruce as a coach. While I don't think they have enough skill on the bottom to crack the top 8, they've started out much better than just about anybody expected. If they keep it up for a couple more weeks, I think people will start getting used to the idea that they're a serious team for the postseason. I'm not there yet.
Just a humble interjection...Emphatic assertions passed off as fact are acceptable in these parts.
Dubinsky hit with new 10k fine....because that will really work
