Great lines from the movies game

December 4, 2012 12:38 am

I’ve been listening to my gut since I was 14 years old, and frankly speaking, I’ve come to the conclusion that my guts have s hi t for brains.
High Fidelity

I don't know the answer to your bonus question, Cobra.
But I will take a wild stab at Welcome Back Kotter

I got a question. If you guys know so much about women, how come you're here at like the Gas 'n' Sip on a Saturday night completely alone drinking beers with no women anywhere?

If you think Mick Jagger will still be out there trying to be a rock star at age fifty, then you are sadly, sadly mistaken.

They are all farmers. Farmers talk of nothing but fertilizer and women. I've never shared their enthusiasm for fertilizer. As for women, I became indifferent when I was eighty-three.

Jimmy Fallon played the short-sighted character who said the prophetically incorrect line.

"David. If you kill him, he will win."
Seven aka Se7en    Speaking about this film in 'Entourage', Ari Gold said, "Anyone who puts Gwyneth's head in a box is OK with me."

Trivia:  What TV show about high school used these similar lines:  Those who can, do. Those who can't do, teach. And those who can't teach, administrate.
Rhino, Great guess with Welcome Back Kotter,
The line was from another high school show of the same era, The White Shadow

Buddy Manucci:  A funeral really brings them out.
Barilli :  Respect for the dead is considered very important. You know that.
Buddy Manucci:  [bitterly] Should show as much for the living.

Dang!
That was actually my first guess but I thought I was the only one who loved that show.
I can't believe that show only lasted 3 seasons!
I watched that thing religiously!
I guess those high school shows are kinda tough to continue with because the characters keep getting older and graduating.

The guy who played Coolidge went on to play a janitor on St. Elsewhere.
My all time favorite episode of st. Elsewhere was when Coolidge was on an elevator and Tim Van Patten got on the elevator. Van Patten played Salami on White Shadow and when Coolidge saw him get on he screamed "Salami!".

Van Patten just gave him a puzzled look and  said "You must have me mixed up with someone else".

Classic stuff!

The Seven-Ups (a largely forgettable film...)

Now talk about forgettable movies:

I'm Prince Precious, rightful heir to the throne of Porno. Years ago, this planet was a veritable paradise. But Wang, a maniacal botanist whose organ was devoured by a crazed Penis**** Flytrap, could not tolerate the existence of so much pleasure, and so, banding together an army of the impotent and frustrated, and armed with a small but effective sex ray, plunged my palace into carnal chaos, and took it over.

Flesh Gordon   Sounds like XXX lines and probably had better acting than the campy 1980 Flash Gordon

Yeah, that's true. I saw the film at a theater in the 70's and I can only remember the car chase and crash scenes.

Appaloosa, a highly underrated flick.  Really good western.

This is from another underappreciated film with one of the same actors as Appaloosa:

What am I gonna do? You bust up a made man's place, you killed some of his guys, you take his eye... Jesus Joey, you took his eye. Barbed wire, wasn't it? That's disgusting! You always were the crazy one.
