Last year the Buckeyes missed out on some guys but really didn't need too much with the returning players so Thad only added a 3* recruit with 3 point specialist in Amedio Della Valle.  As for the 2013 class there are already 2 official signings with Marc Loving who is a 4* SF and Kameron Williams who is a 4* SG and both guys are in the top 100 players in the class and should be solid.  The 2013 recruiting is far from over and Matta should be out looking for a PF or C to add to this class or he may opt to save the scholarship for the 2014 recruiting class which already started off with a bang.  The 2014 class already has 2 top 50 players with 4* Keita Bates-Diop who is a top 30 guy and should be a great player and the other is 4* Jae-Sean Tate who is the #1 player in Ohio for the 2014 class.

So Matta didn't do much last year but has some solid recruits coming in for the 2013 class and is already working on a top 5 type of class for the 2014 class.  The key moving forward for Thad is to find a blue chip PF or C to man the middle in the upcoming years and there are some big names who are interested in tOSU.

I'm not sure who they got coming in this year but we're definitely going to need a guy or a couple of guys who can light it up.  Thomas is gone after this year and he's our only real scorer this season.  We're going to need guys at almost every position in 2 years.

Not much excitement yet.  As to why is anybody's guess.  However, I think there is something to say in how recruits view how Matta uses his bench.  If you come to OSU as a PF or PG and know you are sitting behind Thomas and Craft, are you going to go there, or to a good college with a system in place that gives you a chance to start or get some decent minutes on the court.

The 2013 recruiting class isn't great but both Loving and Kam will be solid players who can score.  Offense is needed and that's what is coming in.  A big is a huge necessity in the 2014 class but with Bates-Diop and Tate already in it looks like Matta will build a top 5 class with the interest from many of the top 20 players.

6'-10" center Dave Bell has committed to OSU for 2014.  Bleacher Report says we were crossed off the list for Andrew Wiggins, though.

I actually follow Garfield Hts hoops and Bell has a lot of potential and can run the floor really well for a big man.  I like the pick up but still need 2 more stud recruits for the 2014 class.  Wiggins was never really interested in tOSU and has been all FSU or UK.  The two 2014 recruits to look at as potential huge blue chip additions would be Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones.  A center and a point guard and both considered top 5 players in the class.

Jahlil Okafor

The article I read said Bell committed knowing full well OSU was still recruiting another center.  I found that odd.

Think about the current roster and there are no bigs coming in the 2013 class so there is plenty of room and playing time for two centers in the 2014 class.  Bring on Okafor!

Oksfor is the #1 overall recruit and Bell is rising right now. Plus, Okafor won't be here for 4 years..
