Atleast they were able to cut it to 12 at the half. That was rough. I didn't plan on a W today on the road. But I didn't think Ohio would hold JBs guys down as well as they did. Maybe Aaron Craft will get tired in the second, or Stauskas will go crazy with the three balls. Something wild is going to have to happen if Michigan is going to have that top spot tomorrow.
They've cut that lead down to 4 with a little over 7 to go. And don't look now, but Timmy is starting to feel it. It's a ballgame down in Columbus now!!!!
I think Horford is going to be solid too. He, is the only true blue post-up man on the team. Morgan can run the floor, and McGary got great hustle. But if it a 6'10" player guarding them, they are a waste.
Good win on the road last night. Fun to watch this team and all the different ways we can score. Hardaway in the first half, Morgan and others in the second. Pick your poison. I still think we have not seen Robinson even close to his full potential and am still waiting for that breakout game from him. I think the key between a good and great season is going to be him when we get to the dance.
Question for all regular, upright Wolverine posters: Have you noted that a virulent new "contributor" (CARL KOLCHAK) has infested your mainpage comments board? Have you wondered why you can't access it's profile? or why it never posts on regular threads?
Every program has its share of malacious trolls...Michigan has always had a surplus of these disgusting, embarrassing people. Check out MSU's cbb mainpage comments board - your "CARL" has manifested itself also as "GAYBLACKMAN", "SPARTANDIEHARD", "MACCOMBSPARTY23" and several already flagged/deleted/discontinued versions of "BLEED." (sound familiar?)
Don't know what can be done about this flaw in CBS systems other than flagging dirtbags like CARL...think about it, if you will. There's enough rancor between the schools without abiding truly disgusting trolls like CARL/Bleed/whoever/whatever. Thanks.
In most cases pure athleticism trumps leadership. And then you land a kid like Burke that has both. That leadership is rubbing off on the entire team. Now if he and Timmy will stay just one more year and help groom GR3, Stauskas, Albrecht, LeVert, McGary and company we'll be set for a couple more seasons. You gotta love all this national attention too. Our recruiting classes should remain strong for many years.
Man, if Trey and Timmy stick around another year, which would mean every one of the top 10 players on the team return, plus they gain the new recruits, the sky would be the limit for this team next year. I'd sure love to see it, though I'm expecting these two to bolt for the money after this season.
Trey is gone. I can see Tim sticking if he feels he can have a huge year and get into the lottery otherwise he bolts to be a late further early second round pick.
Burke will go, not sure if he'll be a lottery pick given his height but it wouldn't surprise me all that much. I can't really see Tim leaving a year early (2 years late, whatever you want to call it these days.)
Gee, being upset that Morris left is a distant memory. I sure don't miss him and his 100 ft arc jump shots off the back of the rim either.
That's the part that stinks about college basketball. Only get to enjoy watching them in a Michigan uniform for a short period of time. We have a lot of talent and good talent coming in, but would still like to watch these guys more. I still contend that Robinson is the key to this season. He has not even come close to his potential at this point and if he does get there by the end of the season I think we are cutting down the nets in April. The fact that he is now being projected to go early in the draft shows that
Jon Horford is taking full advantage of being healthy and Jordan Morgan being hurt. He's looked great the last two games. JMs ankle sprain could be a blessing is disguise. But hopefully he's back for Saturday night.
The U-M centers are seen by many as a weak link in the U-M attack, Yet, recently the U-M centers regularly combine for double-doubles or near double-doubles. Last two games, 16 pts - 18 rebounds - 3 blocks (Nwtn; combined 38 minutes) and 17 pts - 14 rebounds (Illinois; combined 39 minutes). If you keep going back, there are plenty of more such games. The individual numbers don't look imposing, but it is because none of them ever plays more than about 20 minutes.
This center that we have, JordanMitchJon Morgan-McGary-Horford, is putting up near all-conference numbers. Even Max is capable of solid minutes when needed.
The three headed monster with 16 pts / 11 boards / 2 blocks vs that school to the south. There was 6 minutes of two bigs playing together, though, so not 100% Center numbers.
Morgan obviously not 100%. And Beilein really jacking up MM's minutes of late.
Absolutely embarassing and pathetic showing vs MSU tonight. MSU exhibited great defense and energy, while U-M exhibited dreadful defense and energy. MSU with WAY too many good looks at the basket, while U-M rarely had space to do anything on their offensive end. And I have no idea how a team that plays mostly man-to-man defense can be so bad at blocking out on the defensive glass. Blue should be ashamed of their performance tonight. They need to learn to play tougher on the defensive end of the floor, and take a clue from how MSU, OSU, and UW played defense against them.
Well Michigan finished 0-4 against the other top teams in the Big 10. They need to improve fast because you don't play the NCAA tournament on your home floor.
1-0 at home against them. Oddly enough they don't play them at home either, but seeing as Michigan is 4 or 5-0 in neutral site games they have a shot. Glad you are sticking to all negative posts though.
