Which means he was one of Detroit's "offseason signings" like Cleaves said. I guess you could say he spelled it wrong? It's Anibal, not Anibel...but nonetheless you seem even dumber than last year. He was a midseason rental.  I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I know that teams out of the pennent race will trade players that are heading into free agency (i.e. Anibal) to teams making a playoff push in exchange for prospects.  Detroit didn't resign a guy they had put under contract previously, they signed him for the first time after trading for him mid-season.

Maybe you should stick to football....midseason trades seem to confuse you.

Last i knew.......once the season ended.....sanchez was a FREE AGENT........the Cubs thought they had him signed.....but wait.......detroit jumped in and SIGNED him to a contract.....it appears to me that its listed as a free agent signing......not my fault injuns have no free agents WORTH keeping....or when they do, they trade them before the season ends, because they know they have no chance at keeping their good players....i mean really.....who wants to play in cleveland?....they get whats left over like swisher, giambi, dice K, raturd.............ALL HAIL DICE K!!!!!!!!

Oh, and this analogy is wrong.  For Cleaves kid = Sanchez, then the Tigers would of had to have him come up from their own farm system. 

But using (and correcting) your analogy, farm products are a teams' 'birth' children, free agents are off-season trades are 'adopted' children, while mid-season aquisitions that are headed to free agency are the kids who have a sleepover.

So kinik thinks that every time his child has a friend over (casting the cringe-worthy thought of kinik reproducing aside) he has gained a new offspring.

Bourn is a great signing by the Tribe.  They need to look for pitching though.  Their starters are brutal and even with adding Bourn, they will likely finish no better than 3rd.

I do give them props for opening up the wallet and spending some money though.
