Sam: In regards to Hartline, I like him as a receiver and he could be great with a good QB, but Bess is a#3 option at best for the 2nd receiver, I'm not sold on Trannehill as the QB, Bush is a better option than we've had in the past but not someone I would depend on, the defense & secondary has holes and the offensive line needs help.  They didn't look bad, but it's been a long time since I've been able to look at them the way I look at the Patriots.  Everytime they fill a hole they gain 2 more holes somewhere else.

Tlance: 4x the number of pitcher slots would bring it to 32 innings (or 30 rounded down) and if that's the case, I have no problem with the pitching slots the way you've alligned them.  I still would prefer 4SP, 2RP, 2P to 3SP, 2RP, 3P, but am fine as long as we have a decent minimum innings cap.

I showed in the example above from my league, you don't have to forgo offence to stock up on closers.  I picked up 4 of those guys I had off waivers and traded for one.  Yes it is a risk and it is a strategy youj can employ, but so is streaming and I think we can all agree that streaming sucks.  Granted doing this is easier with daily schedules because like you said if you don't have enough starters you can't just put one in at the end of the week to cover yourself.  I just worry because I've seen and used this strategy before and the one's who complained the most are the guys who spent high picks on pitchers only to get beat by a team full of releif pitchers they drafted later or picked up off waivers.  Then again they were both done in keeper leagues and people are a little more sensitive in keeper leagues compared to one year leagues.

As for the OF positions I brought up, I like the idea of seperate positions and if everyone here had been playing fantasy baseball for a number of years I would say yes.  Given the fact that there are several people that are new to this I would say wait a year or two and let them get their feet wet and get familar with the players before you expand on this.  I like it, but I also want to be fair to the new guys.  I say take a vote at the end of the year and if the new guys feel comfortable enough then make that change for next season.

Yellowfuzzy, last year I had 16 players go on the DL in the first 13 weeks (7 of them keepers).  I think you need to have a year like that to truely appreciate the extra DL slots.

Joseph Smith was called a prophet.........dumb de dumb dumb dumb!

Hey, I'm cool with the OF positions if you guys want it I was just trying to find out ed-zachary how it works.

Don't get me wrong on Hartline I do like the guy but I see him as a WR2. Wonder if the Wallace to Miami rumors will come true this year..

I think Hartline could be a WR1 if he had someone across from him to take the pressure off him, and someone better throwing to him.  He'll never be a great WR on his own though, I see him more of being a product of his enviroment.  With the right talent around him he can excel expectations, but not in his current situation.
Mike Wallace?  Combine him and Hartline and Miami will have a nice duo, and that would also help out Bush.  Even with Wallace it all comes down to Tannehill, touchdowns don't matter if you QB keeps throwing interceptions.  One can only hope, but you know what they say about hope.  Hope in one hand and crap in the other.....see which one fills up first.  As you can see, I love to hate my team.

-- enter Buffalo and Stevie Johnson!!  ... as for someone better to throw to him, I can't help ya there!

*** as for the OF positional slots, I'm fine either way.... but the pitching thing, without holds, makes me keep going back to 5 starters, 2 closers... but I will have no beef with whatever the majority feels.

I had no idea foot was out.  I thought he was good to go for sure.  I am a little skeptical on Treff, Ramtuff and Barilko as none of them have posted anything on this thread.  I will send emails out to them each once the league gets established.

Finding another owner shouldn't be too hard, although nobody can replace Foot.  Any suggestions?

Gashouse would be active and he is definitely a good guy.  Thoughts?

Jim and TKO,

I would be good with 4 SP, 2 RP and 2 P.  I think it is important to have some flexibility.  A 32 IP minimum would make sense under those settings.  It would be hard to go under that without starting multiple injured players or without having the type of pitching week that would have led to 0-5 anyway.

Tlance- I would be good with Gashouse. Treff seems to like to take a respit  each year so he may not even want to do FBB.
As for pitching roster, I am good as long as it is something that is difficult to manipulate by stacking with relievers or loading with extra starts in a scoring period. It is nice to be playing the same game witheveryone else.

Jim-16 DL guys? Two DL spots didn't help that much that year did it? ouch!!!

Nice. I will set up the league and PM you guys the password on Saturday.  I know we have not established all of the settings, but I will go with some of the big ticket items and we can adjust as needed up until the draft.  When I sign up the league, it will ask for a draft date and time.  The time that I choose will NOT be official.  We will vote on that in a couple weeks.
