Sam: In regards to Hartline, I like him as a receiver and he could be great with a good QB, but Bess is a#3 option at best for the 2nd receiver, I'm not sold on Trannehill as the QB, Bush is a better option than we've had in the past but not someone I would depend on, the defense & secondary has holes and the offensive line needs help. They didn't look bad, but it's been a long time since I've been able to look at them the way I look at the Patriots. Everytime they fill a hole they gain 2 more holes somewhere else.
Tlance: 4x the number of pitcher slots would bring it to 32 innings (or 30 rounded down) and if that's the case, I have no problem with the pitching slots the way you've alligned them. I still would prefer 4SP, 2RP, 2P to 3SP, 2RP, 3P, but am fine as long as we have a decent minimum innings cap.
I showed in the example above from my league, you don't have to forgo offence to stock up on closers. I picked up 4 of those guys I had off waivers and traded for one. Yes it is a risk and it is a strategy youj can employ, but so is streaming and I think we can all agree that streaming sucks. Granted doing this is easier with daily schedules because like you said if you don't have enough starters you can't just put one in at the end of the week to cover yourself. I just worry because I've seen and used this strategy before and the one's who complained the most are the guys who spent high picks on pitchers only to get beat by a team full of releif pitchers they drafted later or picked up off waivers. Then again they were both done in keeper leagues and people are a little more sensitive in keeper leagues compared to one year leagues.
As for the OF positions I brought up, I like the idea of seperate positions and if everyone here had been playing fantasy baseball for a number of years I would say yes. Given the fact that there are several people that are new to this I would say wait a year or two and let them get their feet wet and get familar with the players before you expand on this. I like it, but I also want to be fair to the new guys. I say take a vote at the end of the year and if the new guys feel comfortable enough then make that change for next season.
OH and Sam, like Mr. Garrison from South Park says, "There is no such thing as stupid questions, only stupid people"
Follow your dreams........you can reach your goals........I'm living proof........Beefcake....BEEFCAKE! South Park Rules
South Park RulesJoseph Smith was called a prophet.........dumb de dumb dumb dumb!
As you can see, I love to hate my team.I'm a Ram fan......................me too.
I think Hartline could be a WR1 if he had someone across from him to take the pressure off him
Keep in mind, all settings are still up for debate and can be changed up until we draft.
