LOL?

What was A&M's record vs Arkansas in the 3 years they played at a neutral stadium prior to them joining the SEC?  Where they in the Big 12 then?

What SEC I did not know the whole SEC played ND last night I thought was Alabama that destroyed ND. I also remember hmmm was it last year that LSU also got destroyed in this same game and did not even pass the 50 yard line on O all game. That same Alabama team that loss to LSU 9-6 in regular season does that say anything on how Saban gets his team ready to play this game. If I am correct is not LSU a powerful ranked one in nation SEC school at the time? How quickly we forget that fact when we throw stones at ND.

Stop the SEC crap the nation is tired of it! Alabama is dominate not the SEC. Alabama has one 4 of the last 7 national titles and Saban won one with LSU so lets just say Alabama is dominate and Saban is best coach in college football in a longg time maybe ever. If we want to be like that I could care less about the SEC follow Saban program and how he gets his team ready to play the big games.

Alabama is clearly a level above everyone.  That's painfully obvious.

I just don't get the whole "SEC is overrated" comments.  People who say this can only mean one of two things:

1) The SEC isn't the best conference in college football
or
2) The SEC is the best but isn't as good as people make them out to be.

So do you fall in the #1 or #2 category?

I think Bama is great but I dont think SEC can beat everyone.  If these SEC fans want to talk about how ND didnt belong then Florida and LSU shouldnt even be in the Top 10.  Florida was way overrated.

Florida was way overrated.
-----------------------------

Florida came out WAY over confident.  Louisville was well coached and went into the game with something to prove.  It was a trap game for Florida because really they had nothing to play for.  When things didn't go like the Gators THOUGHT they would the kids imploded.  I guess they were not prepared for the possibility that someone would dare to stand up to them.  Whether anyone will admit it or not college football is played by boys in men's bodies.  If a NFL team of paid professionals can blow up and play a bad game then certainly a college team can to.

With that said I have no real opinion on where Florida is ranked or should be ranked.  I could care less (although admittedly I did expect them to win that game).  I will say on paper the gators SHOULD have been able to pull out the win, they just didn't execute when they were faced with adversity.  The plain fact is that Louisville totally outplayed them and clearly deserved to win.

Florida became overrated because they kept winning and most of the schools ahead of them failed at some point. This was regarded as a building year for Florida. Yes, they overachieved, but that is a positive, not a negative. LOL

Thats what SEC fans that don't root for Alabama, Florida or LSU do, they can always pick the winner that way.

Probably half of the SEC could have beaten Notre Dame. UF and LSU beat A&M but they wouldn't beat ND? Georgia came within an eyelash of beating Bama but they couldn't beat ND?  ND being in the NC game just shows what a failure the BCS system has really been. There are at least 10-12 teams out there that would have made the NC game more than a laugher by halftime like a vastly overrated ND did.  I am certain my Aggies would have curb stomped ND...but then again, half of the SEC probably would have too....so no big deal

Bama - proven

UF - close but Ill give em the benefit sure

LSU- again close game but depends on how many stupid pills Les took that day

A&M - Give ya that one, ND couldnt keep up on offense vs the Aggies and A&M played against good defenses in the reg season and held their own

USCe- I think so, I think USCe better overall than ND

UGA-  Id give the Dawgs the edge sure

Ok, I guess your close on that call..

Kentucky couldn't have won the Southland Conference this year. Vandy would give the MAC a good run this year though and maybe even CUSA

Georgia was very close to Bama. If Bama lost the SEC title game, Georgia could very well have steamrolled to a national championship. I don't think the SEC is invincible, though. Oregon would not have shocked anyone if they had gotten in and won the NCG. Any very good team can win a single game for the title, if the cards fall just right. You have to look at a whole season to judge overall quality.

I'm a midwest guy who loves to see the B1G and ND do well, but I have to admit when you stack up Bama, Georgia, and TA&M against the top 3 in any other conference, the SEC dominates (all 3 scored in the 40's and won their bowl games). In fact, their top 5 teams are considerably stronger than anyone else's 1-5. Next year, there may be some turnover in the top 5 in the SEC, but they will all be formidable.

Slow down about Georgia. Played a pretty weak schedule and had a porous run defense. They lost to mich st last year in bowl game and struggled against a bad Nebraska team this year. South Carolina sans lattimore was pretty pedestrian. I think bama proved they were out of our league. I'd put a&m up there with them. Fla and lsu would have been pretty evenly matched with us. People saying half the sec would beat us soundly need to lay off the crack.

I think Stanford and ND would have been an even matchup. Georgia, A&M, and Oregon were better than ND. Say what you want about Georgia squeaking by Nebraska and ND squeaking by Pitt in the regular season. Regular season is ancient history.

Here's my case for Georgia. ND and Georgia each played Bama in a big-time championship game on a neutral field, for huge stakes after the regular season was concluded. Georgia gave Bama a war that wasn't decided until the very last play. ND was whupped by Bama well before half time. Still a tremendous season for ND. Anyone who says they weren't a BCS-caliber team is just wrong.

To their credit, in the CapOne Bowl, Nebraska hung with Georgia for about 38 minutes. In the last 22 minutes, Georgia crushed Nebraska 21-0. When Georgia flipped the switch, it was over. Solid win for the Bulldogs.

Here's my rebuttal to your Georgia argument. They played each other with one weeks rest vs five weeks rest. We already know their all American center was injured in the sec championship game and had time to get healthy against us. And Georgia played a tight game in a bowl game against Nebraska not a regular season game like your Pitt comparison. Georgia also struggled against some bad teams during the season too as did fla.
