Wow, now that Staal is no longer a Penguin, Chris is a big fan of his.  Who would've thought that?  I'll bet he loves Malone and Gologoski too.

Niskanen is out 2-4 weeks. Despres skated with Letang in the morning skate.

Don't forget Ryan Whitney. We traded away that Norris caliber dman for essentially a 3rd liner (Kunitz) and that bum Tangradi who has cost the Pens countless games.

Despres looked shaky the first few games. Hopefully it was just nerves, but I think he is the only option with the potential to be a top-4 dman. Let's hope he plays like it. I still want to see what Bortuzzo can do. I would have liked to see him get the call instead of Lovejoy, but I'd also like for Bylsma to stop messing with the lines.

The Islanders are simply a better team than the Pens.

I hope these guys know what they are doing by pacing themselves and not trying during these meaningless regular season games.

If the pens are going to lose anyway. lets go back to the run & gun and lose 4-5. Atleast thats fun to watch! This is like watching paint dry!

Tavares is the real deal. Game. Set. Match. Pens are an average .500 hockey team. No better, no worse.

The Pens PK is way too passive. One of the worst coached teams in the league. They should watch how other teams successfully kill penalties against them. Pressure Malkin. Pressure Crosby. And they turn it over. I don't know why you sit back and watch.

Watch the Isles PK ... That team knows what they are doing. Much better coached. I'm guessing that's Granato who has no idea how to run a PK, unless it is someone else doing special teams. Not sure. But the Pens are poorly coached, no question about that. Of course it is tough to coach a team hat has no heart. This team just doesn't have IT. Too soft. Too much money. Just don't seem to care very much. Not sure what you can do. A lot of lazy players on this team ... comes from a lack of leadership.

I think it is time for a coaching change.  They have talent but little effort.

Another pathetic 2nd period.

Why did the pens keep Lovejoy over Strait? I effing hate Ray Shero. Do you all think our wingers are fine? Good god Kunitz and Dupuis suck again. Kennedy looked horrible with geno and Jeffery missed a wide open net playing with Geno. Crosby has to be so frustrated. Orpik and Martin are having horrible games. Despres is playing well though, that's the one bright spot.

It's time for a coaching and gm change. This team is just stale. We need to make some serious changes.

The worst player on the ice tonight was #87 though. He's either lazy or concussed again ... I guess we'll find out soon if he's not playing at all soon. He's lost every one-on-one "battle" all game long. Lost a face off to Nielson in the defensive zone and then let him go to the front of the net. Every center knows when you lose he draw, you stay with the guy you just lost the draw to. Hockey 101.

Not looking good. Very passive. They keep waiting for the play to come to them. Too much talent on this team for them to lose like this. Geez and zero goals to boot. Needs to be some changes and not just from behind the bench either.

Poor showing at home. No life. Seriously, it's the 6th game of the season and Crosby and Malkin are barely noticeable.

Pathetic is the only way to describe that.

It is time for Bylsma to go. He's overcoaching and undercoaching all at the same time. The only coaching adjustments he makes is to mix the lines up. TK, Jeffrey, Crosby, and Glass all saw time with Malkin and Neal in the first 25 minutes of the game. Pick your damn lines and stick with them. This switching lines every few shifts is driving me crazy.

This team isn't playing with any heart and part of that is on the players, but it is also up to the coach to make changes. He needs to have a sense of the team and pull them out of bad habits or motivate or change the system or something. The only time he has ever done anything like that is when Crosby and Malkin were both out and he turned them into a defensive team. I'm not buying that these players just don't care. We have seen all of them work extremely hard before. All of them. Either Bylsma isn't coaching them, he's coaching them the wrong things, or what he is coaching them isn't getting through. Either way it means the coach needs to go.

And no, it's not panicing after 6 games. This team has been undisciplined for a while now.

If they can find a coach that can motivate guys like Crosby and Malkin and Neal to put forth an effort, I'm all for it. But that's a tall task. They are just getting out worked, and it isn't the 3rd and 4th lines that are getting out worked.

How does a team get 9 minutes of PP time and only get 3 shot on goal? On top of that they gave up 2 shots on goal. So in 9 minutes of having an extra skater the were +1 with shots on goal during that time. I messed the 1st half of the game and I'm kind of glad. Watching the last 30ish minutes there was nothing worth while. Just looked like a mess. Even when there is 3.5 second left and Cooke is getting worked over be the Islanders tough guy Engelland takes his time getting on there. Once he gets there they just hug. There is no reason to take you time. Down 3 goals and u dee 5 seconds left. Who cares if the face off get moved out of the zone. Fight him. Give the few fans that stayed to the end something to cheer for.
