I'll bet he loves Malone and Gologoski too.
Don't forget Ryan Whitney. We traded away that Norris caliber dman for essentially a 3rd liner (Kunitz) and that bum Tangradi who has cost the Pens countless games.
Despres looked shaky the first few games. Hopefully it was just nerves, but I think he is the only option with the potential to be a top-4 dman. Let's hope he plays like it. I still want to see what Bortuzzo can do. I would have liked to see him get the call instead of Lovejoy, but I'd also like for Bylsma to stop messing with the lines.
It is time for Bylsma to go. He's overcoaching and undercoaching all at the same time. The only coaching adjustments he makes is to mix the lines up. TK, Jeffrey, Crosby, and Glass all saw time with Malkin and Neal in the first 25 minutes of the game. Pick your damn lines and stick with them. This switching lines every few shifts is driving me crazy.
This team isn't playing with any heart and part of that is on the players, but it is also up to the coach to make changes. He needs to have a sense of the team and pull them out of bad habits or motivate or change the system or something. The only time he has ever done anything like that is when Crosby and Malkin were both out and he turned them into a defensive team. I'm not buying that these players just don't care. We have seen all of them work extremely hard before. All of them. Either Bylsma isn't coaching them, he's coaching them the wrong things, or what he is coaching them isn't getting through. Either way it means the coach needs to go.
And no, it's not panicing after 6 games. This team has been undisciplined for a while now.
