I'm curious to who Southern Cal wanted to win.

Hopefully they were pulling for Alabama as hard as I was.

Well they did beat the Pac 12 champ and Big 12 co-champ. So no elite teams in those conferences I guess.

Having said that, If this was before the BCS era, I think Oregon could make a legit claim at being #1 with their Big bowl win. Stronger claim if Oklahoma didnt get trounced.

So ND defeats the PAC 12 champ, STAN, that defeated ORE, and ND the Big 12, Co-champ, OU, yet you think ORE could make a claim to being #1 with their BIG bowl win over KAN ST, and that claim could have been stronger IF OU did not get trounced.

And all this is AFTER ALA destroyed ND 42-14 in the BCS NC game.

Nice logic.

The Irish are going to win, blah, blah, blah.  Strength of schedule, blah, blah, blah."  The truly knowledgeable football fans from the SEC that watched 11 weeks of dominance up to that point kept telling the "pundits" that BAMA was going to crush the Irish.

Most knowledgable college fotoball fans knew Notre Dame was going down hard.  It's not limited to fans of SEC teams.

No, but did you seriously think that Clemson and Louisville couldn't compete w/SEC? LOL Touche, my friend.

i actually picked Clemson to win that game.  I figured Florida would win but it's not shocking that they didn't.

Most knowledgable college fotoball fans knew Notre Dame was going down hard.  It's not limited to fans of SEC teams.
But Bishop, when a fan of any other SEC team voiced their opinion about why they thought Bama would win convincingly, they were shouted down as "conference homer fanboys."

How's that fair?

We're not even allowed to give our opinions, just because our team is in the same conference as Alabama?  Should we automatically reject any future posts you make about Ohio State, because you're a Wolverine?  No, we won't do that, because you're actually a rational guy.

08JAN13 - Col Henry Potter, 4077th M*A*S*H - Memo

(for immediate announcement by Cpl "Radar" O'reilly via PA system)

Attention all personnel:

Just a friendly reminder that only Bama fans and everybody else's fans (ND too if they'd like) may enjoy Bama's 2012 NC.  The other 13 SEC team's fans are hereby ineligible to enjoy Bama's 2012 NC by a majority decision of the aforementioned everybody else on the CBS college football message boards.

Carry on enjoying your college football.

That is all.

Oregon had their shot,
Actually, no they didn't.  Oregon 1 loss team.  Alabama 1 loss team.   Bama gets to play widely known overrated Notre Dumb team for the championship.  THe system is a fraud just like your comment.

Look -- Alabama has been absolutely dominating over the last 3-4 years.  The rest of the SEC is riding their coattails right now.  It is not to say the SEC isn't the top conference -- they are.  The people coming on here posting about the SEC dominance is laughable though, as it has been Alabama dominance.

ABSOLUTELY?  You need to look up the definition of the word before posting as much, as you look silly doing so.  For the record, this is the 1st time since 2009 that ALA has won the SEC championship.  For the record, LSU, NOT ALA, won the SEC west and the SEC championship last year.  The year before AUB overcame a 24-0 lead by that dominating ALA team to win the West, then the SEC and then the BCS NC game.  In 09 both ALA and FLA entered the SEC CG undefeated and ALA won.

Being a die-hard LSU Tigers fan, I definitely DID NOT want Alabama to win the national title yet again! I know a lot of LSU fans were pulling for Bama because they're an SEC team, but I did not and do not subscribe to that logic. Yes, it is cool that SEC teams have won 7 national titles in a row (Which LSU contributed to in 2007), but I could find nothing in my heart that wanted Alabama to win. They are LSU's main rival, and the fact that Nick Saban is the coach at Alabama only adds more to the rivalry. I do give credit to Alabama for being a great team that is full of future NFL stars, but just because I respect them does not mean I like the Crimson Tide! No Tigers fan could ever like Alabama! It's not possible! Anyways, I just hope LSU can get back to the national title game next year, which is very possible. I can't stand it when people hate on Les Miles, the man led LSU to a national championship in 2007, took them to the national championship last year, and has been one of the most successful coaches in college football for most of the past decade. All he's done is win and win consistently. Sure, LSU lost its bowl game this year, and lost the championship last year, but other than that, they have been very successful. Bring on next season!

Bama won the BCS NCG.  No other SEC team was involved.
ND loss the game because on 19 carries they only had 32 yards rushing.  They could not run against Bama's D.
The officials were not from the SEC and did not help Bama win...nor did they try to.

That is all folks....nothing more....nothing less.

Oh wait...yes there is ! Laughing

Not one fan of Bama posting on these boards had a damn thing to do with that win...not a damn thing !  All they did was watch the game !

i actually picked Clemson to win that game.
Nobody from the SEC did. After all, LSU had won 19 straight against the ACC - HAD, that is.

I figured Florida would win but it's not shocking that they didn't.
Every SEC fan in the world was watching that game with their jaws on the floor. Most everybody else was, too.

Team SEC just isn't as good as they seem to think they are, obviously. Yes, SEC players are human, too.

Onward, You know the old cliche about "on any given day" ,  but I must tell you, that on january 7th being that given day, I dont think the IRISH could not have beaten Vandy, much less the top 5 in the SEC!

Who dat fan,

If Miles does not get an O.C. and kick that idiot studz to the curb or at least back to the O.L., he will be looking for a job after next season!
Miles is a likeable character(as in cartoon) but he is an idiot, he recruits alright and the players he gets seem to like him, but something is wrong.

An example, do you think Miles and LSU pulled some kind of coup with Mettenberger? UGA and Richt knew the guy was a LEADFOOT that has to windup like a Major league pitcher before he throws every pass. In the mean time Miles lets the louisville QB, the Cinn. QB go and does not even show Johnny football the time of day after he expresses desire to play for LSU!

The state of Louisiana takes a backseat to no one, despite its size, when it comes to High School football talent and a young and upcoming coach looking to make a name could do WONDERFUL at LSU, JUST LOOK HOW SABAN TURNED OUT, SABAN WAS NOTHING

BEFORE HE CAME TO LSU!  N O T H I N G !

..and he knew it and was smart enough to see that he had THE BEST RECRUITING GROUND in the country in La!

Miles better wake up or Michigan and Arkie can have him!         hahaha , too bad we didnt let them!

Oh, I know!  Mishigan and Ar-KANSAS didnt offer him a job.........    I HATE LIARS!

I 100% agree on not wanting Bama to win it all again. Miles well he just needs to get a good OC and turn that part of the team over to him.. Defense can't win the game alone all the time. You gotta have some Offense in there somewhere.....

A Michigan fan giving me grief. LOL. You have 1 shared NC since the 1940s, and you want to give me grief? Take a look at your win percentage since your last shared NC and tell me how UM compares with UGa. It isn't pretty. Hate on, hater!

yea but i don't nut hug on my enemys  success like my team won like u are doing.  enjoy celebrating what ur team could not do.
LOL. Typical response ... totally ignore the beat down I just gave you and change the subject. Weak! Guess you won't be trashing UGa any more now will you, tool.

First, I don't have "enemies" in college football. Too much energy to hate other college football teams. And, yes, I am enjoying that for the 7th year in a row, a team in my conference won the NC. I'm one of those people that think it's fine to pull for teams in your conference ... I think it makes total sense. One of these years it will be our turn ... we were 5 yards from it this year. In the meantime I am plenty happy with our top 5 finish, our 2 SEC championships in the past decade, and being in the SEC CG 5 times in the past decade. Where was your team again this year and the past decade? Never mind.

And this really has to kill you ... my undergrad alma mater, that would be Vandy of all teams, was ranked higher then your team this year. That has to hurt! And you weren't even ranked in one of the polls.

Bishop ...

Many threads that discuss this and many reasons why it is a good thing.

Why wouldn't I be happy? Top 5 finish this year. Since 2012 we've been SEC champs twice (didn't get to the NCG both of those years which might make you understand one reason I'm Team SEC ... Imagine that, the SEC champ not getting in the BCS game), in the SEC CG 5 times. Ranked in the top 5/10 often. What's not to like other than a NC which we, along with most all other teams not in the SEC, are working on?

As to recruiting, they can't get them all, can they? I seem to recall an 85 scholly limit, with 25 limit per class. Just this day, the day after Bama won the NC, a 5 star Bama commit decommitted from Bama and committed to FSU. The frickin day after. Tell me how that makes any sense. Look at all the teams that passed on Johnny Football to show that you never know who the best players are going to be anyway. The fact is that the number of really good players that want to play in the SEC because of their current run and exposure trumps the fact that Bama might get their share of really good recruits.

As to the gap between UGa and Bama, it seems to me this year when Bama won its third NC in 4 years the gap was 5 yards and 1 hell of a play by Mosely. Hate it, wish we were in Miami, but in the scheme of things I'm happy where we are. I am guessing there are quite a few BCS programs that would be glad to change places.
