Calling all Lakers haters...

January 11, 2013 4:08 pm

Since your post got deleted along with the entire thread, I'll post it here, because I think it was a good post by a Laker fan...

Lakersrule:  "You better believe that I'm concerned. There is a high probability that the Lakers fall 6 games under .500 after tonight. This hole is getting deep and and they honestly don't look very good right now. I really wish Kobe would shift full control of the offense over to Nash. There are still too many Kobe iso's going on. The one good thing going foward is that if the Lakers do make the playoffs, they'll likely being playing good basketball come playoff time and could go on a nice roll. They'll certainly be a dangerous lower seeded team. "

rule - I'll take this thought one further...the Lakers will not only be "a dangerous lower seeded team", I submit to you that they'll be the most dangerous lower seeded team in NBA playoff history!  You're right, it's all about momentum headed into the postseason...I'll go ahead right now and make the correlation between the LA Kings improbably run as the 8 seed to win last year's Stanley Cup to what the Lakers are potentially capable of.

realdeal - you're so keyed in on this Portland vs. Heat game being such a big deal, especially for Laker fans (like me) rooting against the Heat...it's amusing.  You're counting games with 47 left to play and basically three playoffs spots in the West up for grabs...give me a break!

And, yes, it is odd that the "Heat in a slump..." thread that BAM authored got deleted - it just goes to show you the obvious Heat bias demonstarted by the admins in this community...which also serves as a further testament that the last thing Lebron and the Heat needs is your support...especially if it comes at the expense of your very own hometown Philadelphia 76ers which, I submit to you, is the team much more deserving of your unwavering, continual, and fully fledged support.

My Sixers stink and no one wants to talk about them.  Should I just not write anything since I am a Sixer fan?  At least the Lakers stink and people want to talk about them.  You should be happy about that.  I defend LeBron because people say stupid things about him.  Say something stupid about Evan Turner and I will defend him as well.  Say something stupid about Kevin Durant and I will defend him as well.  Say something stupid about Dwight Howard and I will defend him as well.

How oddly and nauseatingly Quixotic of you...and totally unnecessary!  Don't you think that the entire national media fawning over him is enough for "The Chosen One"???  Personally, I'd have a lot more respect for you as a poster at large were you to be uniquely and principally identifiable as a Sixers fan than a LeBron James ballwasher.  And, for the record, I don't think your Sixers stink all that bad.  Like the Lakers, they're currently a bubble team to make the playoffs in their conference (albeit a totally inferior conference) and that makes them just as relevant...despite not possessing anywhere near the type of relevance and overall worthiness of all of our attention that the Lakers tend to command.

47 games is not much. After tonight the Lakers would have played already 44% of their schedule.

3 playoffs seeds in the west is up for grabs? I doubt it. It's more like 2. Denver is about to go on a hot streak as they finally to play at home for a long period of time and they're a lock to make the playoffs.  I think the 2 seeds that are up for grab will be Houston & Portland, and the bad news for the Lakers is that their schedule is very tough in January and Feb.

I'll go ahead right now and make the correlation between the LA Kings improbably run as the 8 seed to win last year's Stanley Cup to what the Lakers are potentially capable of.
LOL comparing hockey to the NBA to make your case. In hockey all you need is a hot goaltender and you can win the title from whatever seed. In the NBA you need a whole lot more to make a run to the title from the 5th seed or lower.

The Lakers can say bye to a top 5 seed which means if they do make the playoffs they would probably have to go through OKC, SAS, and Clippers without HCA in 3 straight rounds lol.

Not happening

You still making excuses?

Nothing in the NBA compares to a hot goaltender in hockey.

Hockey and baseball are the easiest sports to win without HCA. In the NBA it is extremely tough to even win 2 series in a row without HCA....To win 4 series without HCA is almost impossible

Those teams can lose in the early rounds too. I believe the Spurs lost as a #1 seed a couple of years ago. It certainly won't be the path of least resistance, but it's not impossible.

Lakersrule: How would you view a Laker fan who would rather the Lakers fall another 1/2 game back of the 8th seed, than to root for the Heat beat beat a Laker competitor? Shouldn't the dedicated Laker fan be hoping for anything that improves their playoffs chances at this point?

It makes more sense to me to root for the teams to beat the teams ahead of the Lakers in the standings. But the Heat Haters have their own logic. I don't hold it against them.

You have common sense. Those guys do not.

CL actually said today if the Heat played the team 1 game ahead of LAL on the final game of the season, he would rather see that team beat the Heat instead of the Lakers making playoffs....And these guys claim they're lakers fans.

These guys prefer to see a Heat L instead of a Lakers W.

Funny thing is the Heat and Lakers are not even rivals.

OKC and Miami are more of rivals than the Heat and Lakers

So here why Bam thread was deleted according to one of the admins

bksballer89,

Because the first post contained an offensive word that circumvented the swear filter and when the first post of a thread is removed, then the thread no longer appears on the board it was posted on.

Almost impossible. I believe in, was it 95? that the Rockets won it all as a 6-seed. Of course, they were also the defending champs at the same time so that might have had something to do with it.

Yes the Rockets did do it and I believe the only team to actually win the finals without having HCA in any series.

The 1999 Knicks did it but the Spurs beat them in the finals.

The chances of it happening is very slim

well, let's see if YOUR statement stands up to the eyeball test, punchline. i've been a Lakers fan longer than YOU'VE been alive(that'd be since 1970). will ALWAYS be a Lakers fan 'til they plant me in the ground. that said...

i can't stand this group of arrogant, egotistical group of colluding germs...ESPECIALLY the LEAD germ you call LBJ. hated him the minute he played for the Cavs, and his lying, grandstanding, etc. throughout the years didn't make it any better. now, being that this Heat team is all about ARROGANCE it makes it EXTREMELY easy to hate them, and therefore stand on my principle. let's face it, rooting for the Heat for ANY reason, under ANY circumstance would be like rooting for Satan. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. so somehow in YOUR eyes this makes me less of a Laers fan? really? TOO funny...

you can make suppositions, i'll stand by my principles...

fu'k them - wonder if this post will get deleted

the Heat bias by the CBS admins is really starting to get more noticable. it honestly disgusts me...

For some reason I've been locked out...so Cooney is in...the guy that needs the rules...sorry forgot the name...rules are if the Lakers make the playoffs I win if not I lose...anybody that takes me up gets to pick my avi...since I am 1 and it may be many...I will sport the avi of each participants choice until the next season...so if Cooney is the only 1 than I sport his choice if you join half way until next season I sport his then I sport yours...so on and so on...RealDeal that is 2 different bets...if the lakers make the playoffs I win...then the Heat would have to win for you to win...my bet was if the lakers make it you sport my avi until the playoffs are over...but I'll do the 2 bets if your interested...which is if the lakers win you sport mine through the playoffs...if the Heat win it all I the. Sport your choice as if you won the original bet meaning I'll sport your choice until next season but if the Heat don't win it all you sport mine until next season...? So it will be 2 separate bets...if you win both when the season starts I'll still sport yours until Christmas... Deal...?

Cooney RealDeal and Ucf not sure are the only guys that are in question...if the other 2 are in they can get in by Monday but Cooney is locked in...no more bets outside of those 3 since you had plenty of time and those two have until Tuesday to decide...let the games begin...GO Lakers!!!

You have a greater than 50% chance to win both bets while I have the opposite.  I will do the combined bet that I leyed out rather clearly, or I will pass on it.  No big deal either way.
