The one good thing going foward is that if the Lakers do make the playoffs, they'll likely being playing good basketball come playoff time and could go on a nice roll. They'll certainly be a dangerous lower seeded team.rule - I'll take this thought one further...the Lakers will not only be "a dangerous lower seeded team", I submit to you that they'll be the most dangerous lower seeded team in NBA playoff history! You're right, it's all about momentum headed into the postseason...I'll go ahead right now and make the correlation between the LA Kings improbably run as the 8 seed to win last year's Stanley Cup to what the Lakers are potentially capable of.
I defend LeBron because people say stupid things about him.How oddly and nauseatingly Quixotic of you...and totally unnecessary! Don't you think that the entire national media fawning over him is enough for "The Chosen One"??? Personally, I'd have a lot more respect for you as a poster at large were you to be uniquely and principally identifiable as a Sixers fan than a LeBron James ballwasher. And, for the record, I don't think your Sixers stink all that bad. Like the Lakers, they're currently a bubble team to make the playoffs in their conference (albeit a totally inferior conference) and that makes them just as relevant...despite not possessing anywhere near the type of relevance and overall worthiness of all of our attention that the Lakers tend to command.
You're counting games with 47 left to play and basically three playoffs spots in the West up for grabs...give me a break!47 games is not much. After tonight the Lakers would have played already 44% of their schedule.

In hockey all you need is a hot goaltender and you can win the title from whatever seed. In the NBA you need a whole lot more to make a run to the title from the 5th seed or lower.
Denver is about to go on a hot streak as they finally to play at home for a long period of time and they're a lock to make the playoffs.ya, ok Nostradamus...er, I mean, hater...
LOL comparing hockey to the NBA to make your case. In hockey all you need is a hot goaltender and you can win the title from whatever seed....a 100% healthy Dwight Howard = hot goaltender...
The Lakers can say bye to a top 5 seed which means if they do make the playoffs they would probably have to go through OKC, SAS, and Clippers without HCA in 3 straight rounds lol.

Lakersrule: How would you view a Laker fan who would rather the Lakers fall another 1/2 game back of the 8th seed, than to root for the Heat beat beat a Laker competitor? Shouldn't the dedicated Laker fan be hoping for anything that improves their playoffs chances at this point?
It makes more sense to me to root for the teams to beat the teams ahead of the Lakers in the standings. But the Heat Haters have their own logic. I don't hold it against them. You have common sense. Those guys do not.
