Tebow got the chance to prove something in practices and preseason and all he showed was he can't do it.   Ryan refused to play Tebow because he saw Tebow can't play.   Bringing him to the Jets was Woody Johnson's call, not Ryan's.

Citing the season with the Broncos continues to ignore that Tebow basically snuck up on the league.    The Patriots showed how to beat him (don't play him scared, take away his first read, and attack head on) and his effectiveness disintegrated before everyone's eyes.

Yes, the Jaguars would be worse off with Tebow - game-planning against Tebow is the easiest to do now.   Tebow can't make the Jaguars anything; all he can do is show Blaine Gabbert is still better than him.

Tebow wouldnt do worse, though it wouldnt be alot better either.
I'm a Chiefs fan, and I'm positive Tebow would have done better than Quinn or Cassel. He would have helped Charles for sure. You're right, he's not a lot better than the sorry starting QBs for these teams, but he does bring a dynamic to the table which we saw in Denver.

It's something to try if your team is really bad and you don't have an immediate fix. Are the Jags going to take a QB with the 2nd pick? Will he be good enough to start from day 1? Can they bring in an Alex Smith?

DISagree badly here!!! firstly, Gabbert's confidence is pathetic. you think it's easy to beat Tebow right?? well i say it's super easy to beat Gabbert. just make him feel ghost pressure and he makes a poor throw.

Yeah, and the Pats are known to do that with QBs, even the greats *cough* Manning *cough*. The question is, why didn't the Steelers do it?

What does Gabbert give you?

firstly thanks NFL Insider.....i still dont know for sure on if Tebow's a Jaguar or not. sure the GM said no, BUT it's not like people are honest. I cant forget about how Saban was NOT going to Alabama when he was in Miami, then next thing we know, there he is in Bama.
I'm a Chiefs fan, and I'm positive Tebow would have done better than Quinn or Cassel.
Quinn yes, Cassel, not sure. i liked Cassel, but he's hard for me to read on. he did fit very well in the NE offense, as for Quinn, he's a bust.

I have never seen so much attention given to a crappy QB in all my life. Tebow needs to go to the CFL and see about making some starts there. I am sick of the attention given to this guy, he is a nice person granted, but he sucks in football. If the GM of the Jaguars is saying no, then it's time to stop this rant.

yeah and basically almost every team showed how to beat Gabbert.

normally, i agree, but it's like i wrote, it's hard to believe people at their word. i mean Saban said he wouldnt ever go to Alabama and did.

Cassel was horrible this season. He had one good year with the Chiefs when they won the division with an easy schedule. However, their last regular season game against the Raiders and the playoff game against the Ravens was ugly, as those two teams blew up the Chiefs and bottled up their offense. Cassel didn't do anything.

And it was downhill for him and KC ever since.

yeah true on those points. i do think he should get replaced. i will get into who in a second....but firstly to nfl insider, IF Tebow isnt a Jaguar, then congrats on getting that 100% right....anyways to KC, i clearly dont see Tebow there (though it would be weird), i think they either 1) trade back or 2) stay there and take Geno who would be Reid's McNabb. it would be a bit of a reach, but he did pick McNabb and got booed, so i wont be shocked if he went that same route and reaches a bit for Geno.

for me, i say (if the GM is not lying) either Matt Barkley or Tyler Wilson. they cant possibly go into next year with Gabbert starting.

The Chiefs picked the wrong season to be terrible. I hope they trade back. I'm not sold on Geno, particularly not as the #1 overall. But there aren't any QBs worthy of #1 overall. Thing is that the Chiefs must draft/sign some QBs. It's their #1 need.

A Chiefs fan? Cool. So you must be pretty happy landing Andy Reid as coach. He is a proven winner. I'm surprised Cassel has not been great yet for you. Maybe it WAS the coaching staff. Who knows but we are going to find out. I give it 2-3 years and they will compete for the AFC WEST. Manning will retire one day LOL.

I must say that if Schuab sucks Sunday then I will be ready for Yates or someone else.

yeah that's what i think they will hope to do as they need a QB most, the best move for them would be to find a team with a major tackle or defensive player need and i would be cheap on it too.
I'm not sold on Geno, particularly not as the #1 overall. But there aren't any QBs worthy of #1 overall.
true, BUT do remember. the Eagles fans booed McNabb (they wanted Ricky Williams), so if they did reach for Geno, it could be a blessing in disguise.
Thing is that the Chiefs must draft/sign some QBs. It's their #1 need.

i agree. i also wont be shocked if Vick is a Chief. one poster wants the Chiefs to sign Vince Young and draft Lacy and i think that's a bit off base, but i could see Vick there.

Tebow NOT Going To New England

January 11, 2013 1:48 am

The Jaguars are in no position to win next year and when they aren't winning they don't sell tickets, Hell even when they are they had to pull a ton of tarps out and almost picked up and left. If you get the home town hero as a sales gimmick that will bring a ton of merchandising, ticket sales, etc. Even if it is just for one year they still will be making money and creating a buzz on the team. But knowing how people down their worship Tebow, it doesn't matter how long they keep them they keep him he will sell tickets and generate interest. Even if he is just a backup.

What if the owner is pulling a Major League (the movie), making a crappy team so that tickets sale will be so bad, that he can tell the NFL he needs to move his team to L.A.? I mean, really, I see no reason why you would not bring in Tebow.

Tebow NOT Going To New England

January 11, 2013 2:47 am

Tebow will be the starting qb for the Jaguars next season.  They have problems selling tickets for their home games and Tebow starting will fill seats.  Tebow will start soley based on the fact people want to see him play no matter how awful he is.
Oh Boy. Lets me just tell you 19th in attendance would say otherwise.

Now lets hear your recycled comment about tarps and how Tebow can fix our fanbase

With Caldwell at GM it doesn't seem to be too far of a stretch to say Greg Roman could be their head coach this time next week. And would it be too surprsing to see Alex Smith wearing number 11 for the Jags at starting QB rather then Blaine Gabbert next year?
