Nice try Nos.....the quick sand of facts has swollowed you and your opinion up along time ago..but nice try.

You post nothing but yours and others opinions and try to pass them off as facts, you are obviously to stupid to understand that. I'm done here, these conversations started as a fun back and forth between two people who had different opinions but now you are just to ignorant to even have a conversation with, take care.

All you have Nos is your opinion.....you say he's a cancer yet no one from  the team or anyone associated with the Vikings has said anything remote ....the GM, coach have both said there are no issues with Harvin...all you have is in your opinion there may be.

The REAL FACT  no one associated with the team have said there are any issues......Peterson has said that himself and Harvin are the 2 best players in the league....didn't have to make that remark, he could have said he was a solid player, great player but chose the best in the league and that no one IN AD'S OPINION can do what Harvin does at the level he does it or will there be anyone ever that can. Ponder said IN HIS OPINION Harvin was the best player in the NFL...again, didn't have to use those words but chose to. Regardless if he's a pain in the butt or not the coaches have no issue and the 2 guys that are best qualified to have an opinion on his ability have both stated he's ELITE AS YOU CAN GET.

There have been alot of facts from many...the fact you are too pig headed to accept them because they disprove your opinion of a player  is your problem.....

Elite(best, cream of the crop by definition) IMO are players such as:

QB.....P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers.

RB.....AD, M. Lynch

WR.....Megatron

TE.....T. Gonzalez, Gronk, V. Davis.

Percy may not be elite by definition but time, consistency and stats will prove him to be elite or just great one way or another. Let him play another couple of years or so, put up some great numbers and then IMO he would be classified as elite. Right now I would consider him to be a great player w/the potential to be elite in all the categories posted by Hutch.

Can we all agree that the Vikes will/can be a much better team w/him than w/o him? I don't see how the Vikes can replace his versatility and impact to score at any time on the field very easily. With Percy, AD, our improving TE from ND, a WR who can stretch the field and our All Pro FB and a HOPEFULLY improved Ponder, the Vikes can/will be a team to be reconed with.

The first line is what i've been saying all along, i'm willing to give him time, obviously the Vikes are a better football team with him, I never said they weren't. I have also said I wish he would stop being a arrogant SOB then I would love the Vikes to resign him.

I also wish Percy would stop being an arrogant prick but the Vikes have to deal with that for the time being.

If the Vikes can give Carlson 5M per year for doing nothing they sure as hell should be able to Percy 10M..

If he wants too much money and wants to be a jerk and wants out of Minny.... Don't let the door hit him on the way out IMO!!!

Well maybe if you looked up the definition of ELITE you may better understand.......

The best or most skilled members of a group.....would be the most appropiate to discribe this situation as it can be used to discribe football players..

One of the best hands in the league......ELITE
Yards per attempt in returns........... ELITE
Tops in YAC before getting hurt.......ELITE
10.3 Yrds per touch with min of 50 rushes and 100 rec best in league....ELITE
The YAC, best hands, makes him ELITE as a slot receiver
His average yards per attemt 6.4 is one of the tops in the league too

The main problem I see is you are trying to classify him as just a receiver......AD said it best ..he does alot at such a high level and by definition....an elite level when he gets the ball in his hands..that is the key. He can't control who his QB is, the weapons around him or the offensive scheme so to compare him to just a WR that goes mainly deep is tough...you can compare what he does to others when they get the ball in thioer hands...and be definition he is very much ELITE in those areas compared to the rest of the players in the league.

No they don't but Percy has proven himself FAR more than Carlson has or probably will.

NOS, if we do trade or get rid of Percy,  how will we replace his versatility and explosive play making capability? The guy has special talent and most teams would love to have him. WE just can't trade him and get no equal value in return.

Frazier and our GM better sit down and iron things out w/him and his agent as I don't see anything great occuring with trading him because he's a jerk and maybe has an over-inflated opinion of himself.

THe GM and HC get paid big bucks to work this stuff out. They gotta do their jobs IMO!!

One of the best hands in the league......ELITE

This is opinion, being he catches all of his passes within about 10-15 yards of the quarterback makes it easier to catch the ball, I wonder how many of his receptions are with a guy actually covering him and not on little slants and screens with the corner playing off, alot easier to catch the ball when you dont have a guy grabbing and holding you.

Yards per attempt in returns........... ELITE

He averages less than 2 returns a game, sure he's a great return guy but is it really in the teams best interest to pay a great return guy 10-12 million? The injury risk is to high, this is why most teams have return guys who arent the teams #1 WR.

Tops in YAC before getting hurt.......ELITE

Again, the kind of passes he catches are designed to get him yards after the catch, which we all agree is what we want but this is why you usually see slot receivers and running backs leading the league in YAC.

10.3 Yrds per touch with min of 50 rushes and 100 rec best in league....ELITE

You are just cherry picking here, he averaged 4.4 yards per carry on 22 carries last year, not what most would call elite.

The main problem I see is you are trying to classify him as just a receiver......

Because thats what he is, he averages 2 carries per game for his career and averages less than 2 kick returns per game the last 2 seasons.

I just dont see how someone can be considered elite when he hasn't put up elite numbers.

I think I made my feelings on signing Carlson pretty clear, huge mistake so I got no argument for ya here.

NOS, if we do trade or get rid of Percy,  how will we replace his versatility and explosive play making capability?

I don't know if we can, but Percy isn't the clue that holds the team together, other teams have won a Super Bowl without Percy on their team so we could still sign a FA or draft a guy or two that can help us win.

WE just can't trade him and get no equal value in return.

We can only hope more than one team makes a play for him otherwise teams may know we have limited options which would drive his value down, if we can get a late 1st or early 2nd i'd be happy with that.

Frazier and our GM better sit down and iron things out w/him and his agent

Ok, but we really don't know everything thats happened involving Percy and Frazier, maybe it's gotten to the point of no return for Frazier and Spielman. We will find out soon i'm sure.

Hutch, people are posting crazy stuff in the Percy Harvin thread on the main board, someone even said Greg Jennings is better than Percy, you should go set them straight, let them know Percy might be the best all around player to ever play in the league.

Here's the link for ya. Some of these people are crazy.

The percentage is based on catchable ball....the fact Harvin only dropped 1 pass that was deemed catchable last year was amazing. the top WR drop 10-12 % so it's not even close as Harvin was at 1.5 %. By the way...grabbing and hold are illigal and that would have been a penalty and not part of the stat ...they still called those during the season.

He averages less than 2 returns a game, sure he's a great return guy but is it really in the teams best interest to pay a great return guy 10-12 million? The injury risk is to high, this is why most teams have return guys who arent the teams #1 WR.

the fact he averages more yards per attempt than anyone in the league and has 5 TD's in the amount of times he's done it has ELITE written all over it don't you think.

Again, the kind of passes he catches are designed to get him yards after the catch, which we all agree is what we want but this is why you usually see slot receivers and running backs leading the league in YAC.

He's still the best at it but most slot receivers are not catching the ball at or behind the line of scrimmage...the fact teams stack the box with AD in the back field makes that much more impressive...catching a slant or crossing route beyond the box in the midlle of the field is usually wide open and much easier for YAC as there may only be one player even in the area making an attempt to tackle you before you get another 7-8 yards...Harvin has to deal with alot more because of our QB and no deep threat.....he also lead the laegue at time of injury for making people miss..hence the solid YAC number...still ELITE at doing it.

You are just cherry picking here, he averaged 4.4 yards per carry on 22 carries last year, not what most would call elite.

How is this cherry picking numbers ????  It's since he's been in the league...I'm(LaConfora) is using his entire career againts anyone else in that time frame and he's the best period.

The fact is he is an elite play maker in a number of areas......He can't control the offence he plays in or how much he is targeted or used......If you have players that do more than Harvin with the ball in his hand I'd love to hear who they are and what weapons and QB are around them too to help them succeed.

That's too funny Nos.....I would but Patsfan is on that thread...the one that tried to sell us on how Matt Cassell was worth 2 first round picks and would be the next great QB........Yours and mine discussions are like too old ladies at a church function discussing whether there is enough coffee compared to win him and I go at it......Think I'll stay away lol. That said, if someone wants a 30 year old, often injured Jennings that played with one of the best QB's in the league and with the best recieving staff for years and is limited to playing slot and no other position go for it.....they think he'll put up better numbers than Harvin they are entitled to thier opinions......I'm guessing most GM's and OC's would say other wise.
