New OC in KC is Doug Peterson...What?!? LOL!!!

January 14, 2013 1:32 am

That article was for you Scuba. I wasn't aware that he actually played football more or less coach it and with all that said he's still NOT qualified. He's impact on Temple was sooooo small that I wasn't even aware that he was on that staff. But I went back and checked as you stated and it appears to me that he was layed out a plan to be a coach in the NFL one day and those were the steps to get him there. I can dig deeper and get the win-lose records of all those teams he played and coached for, I'm pretty sure they weren't all that great. I find it odd that he has a bachelor's degree in communications but failed to use the right form of communication when he pulled out an unlicensed gun on a street intersection. Boy...I know I'm going to get grief for that.
Okay Truth, why don't you tell me who EXACTLY Reid should have hired? No generalizing on what type of coach. I want SPECIFIC names for EVERY coaching postion on his staff that he filled. Since you are obviously tuned into what happens on every sideline and every locker room of every team, telling me you know who makes a good coach or not should be a fairly simple task for you.

As usual, you just criticize without offering any real solution. You have given me no concrete reasons. You just keep reiterating that they aren't qualified. Furthermore, you don't explain who he should have hired. The REAL truth is that you have a personal agenda and no matter who Reid hired, you just couldn't wait to come on here and say how dumb Reid is while saying how smart you are.

Oh come on now Scuba, is this your weak attempt to turn the tables on me? Haven't anyone ever told you not to answer a question with a question? I asked you what impact did Britt and Doug have on the Eagles and the Owls and you come back with this garbage and didn't even answer my question. It's not about knowing ALL the coaches on every team, it's about knowing the personal here and they're impact on the teams here in Philly (are you even from Philly?). The point to made here is that if Britt made an impact on Owls football his name would have been brought up as a hot commodity, same thing goes for Doug Peterson in the NFL yet no one talks about those guys, why? Because they did nothing to improve their previous teams and Andy Reid brought them along to continue training them for HC job someday at the expense of the team. I recall you saying something stupid like, "Reid's former assistants were hired by other teams for one reason...they were good at what they do" LMAO!!! Who are we talking about here Brad Childress, Pat Shurmur or Ron Rivera? I telll you Scuba, you're just a barrel of laughs....Those guys got jobs because the Eagles like Seattle were smoke and mirrors, with JJ's defense covering up Reid flaws the team was successful in a weak division and everyone wanted a piece of the pie. Brad fired, Pat failed in Cleveland and Ron is struggling to build a team in Carolina....I guess they weren't as good as YOU thought, eh?

Nope Truth, but thank you for continuing to prove my point that you are nothing more than an angry pissant backseat driver. All you do is bitch and moan and never put yourself out there with concrete solutions or ideas. All you do is offer generalizations that any idiot could come up with. This is YOUR attempt to deflect because you don't have a damn clue who would be a good hire as an assistant coach. No fan would really have an idea. The truth is that no matter who Andy hired you would be on here criticizing it because you're a bitter little man. The fact that you can't even offer any names is proof of that. And let's be clear. Even IF you do give me names now, it's worthless because you already spent so much time criticizing without even knowing what the solution was. But I'm still curious. Give me names, slick.
The point to made here is that if Britt made an impact on Owls football his name would have been brought up as a hot commodity, same thing goes for Doug Peterson in the NFL yet no one talks about those guys, why?
What exactly is a quality control coach supposed to do that is tangible to you? Doesn't matter. You've changed your argument already. First you said he didn't have any coaching experience, so now you change it to that he didn't make Temple a better team, which is even more pathetic. LOL. Classic Truth.
I guess they weren't as good as YOU thought, eh?
Just because someone didn't make it as a HC doesn't mean they are a lousy coach. Spagnuolo falls in the same category and yet you're still all over his nuts and calling the Eagles stupid for not bringing him back. As always, you conform arguments to suit YOU. You don't look at things objectively and you never have. I doubt you ever will.

Thank goodness, I was beginning to think I was the only one who did that.

Just because someone didn't make it as a HC doesn't mean they are a lousy coach.
So true. There was a coach in Cleveland who went 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5 (went 1-1 in the playoffs), then went 5-11 before getting fired. Amazingly enough he got another HC job. In his new job he has won his division 10 times, gone to 5 SB's and won 3 of them. Just because a coach doesn't have success in one place doesn't mean he won't have success at another.

[disclaimer - I am in no way comparing AR to Bill Belichick] Oh thank god Section, at least you can acknowledge that Reid is NOT in the same class as Bill Belichick. I can't say the some for that idiot with the bag over his head that posted before you. Anytime you question Andy Reid's greatness, Scuba and his infinite wisdom wants to compare the Eagles to Pittsburgh, Green Bay and NE. What a fool, I stand behind what I say...that Doug Peterson hiring will blow up in Reid's face just like Castillo. Reid's son is NOT qualified but will be promoted up the ranks by his daddy in no time. The good ole boys system that Andy Reid brought to KC from Philly will hinder that team for years to come....the KC Chiefs' are doomed.

More classic Truth. Just turns it around on me and tries to deflect by calling me an Andy lover and doesn't address a single point I mentioned. AGAIN.

Ah what it must be like to be so simple-minded. Tell me Truth, is ignorance bliss?

Because you are an Andy Reid disciple who hangs on every word he says and will argue to death to defend his failures. I asked you a question and you turned the tables and answered my question with a question. If you're not going to answer my question, why sure I answer yours? Is ignorance bliss you ask? Look in the mirror and ask that question because the only one of ignorance is YOU!
I don't defend his failures, Truth. He was successful here and it ended really badly. Almost every decision he made since 2010 blew up in his face and he really should've been fired after the 2011 season.

But you acting like he didn't do anything here and was a miserable failure for all 14 years is just wrong.

In fact, I wouldn't even be talking about him anymore if you weren't so obsessed with him. I really don't care what he does in KC, yet you will probably be posting about him for the rest of your miserable life. Are you even going to follow the Eagles or are you going to follow KC just to hope he fails?

You are a sad, pathetic, little man.

Here you go, exaggerating again. I never said he was a failure for all 14 years, where did you see that SIR???

PULEASE! If Andy Reid is successful in his first year in KC (which I highly doubt since he's STILL making the same stupid decisions) you will be the first knucklehead running to me saying, "the great Andy Reid is winning in KC, what do you got to say about that Truth?" Don't lie, you know will do that.

You are a sad, pathetic, little man.
The mirror Scuba....I'm sure that is what you see when you look in it.

Reid is a real good coach. He can obviously select some talent (Harbourgh/Johnson). Reid's main problem is that he is not a good game time coach and cannot adjust to the game quick. He also has poor time management. And he has made some idiot player decisions over the years (Vick, Owens are two for example).

The fact is that Reid will improve the Chiefs but it isn't hard to improve on a team that went 2-14 the prior year also.

I don't know about Reid being a "real" good coach but he did surround himself with coaches that made him look better than he really was. JJ's defense carried that team during the time when Andy Reid was at his best and the only year the offense carried that team was in 2004 for Terrell Owens. I actually disagee you when you included Owens with Vick. That was the one and only time Reid went after a big receiver and that year the team looked almost unstoppable. But the Eagles front office and their business always attitude and TO's inability to shut the hell up killed that marriage NOT Reid. I do believe that it was Roseman who told Reid to start Vick so I can't really blame him for Vick either. But all the other blunders you mentioned were on point and that Castillo experiment falls on Reid's shoulders for sure. I'm just glad that Reid is gone and Morniweg is outta here. I've had enough of those two and their inability to run an effective offense that can compete against the better defenses in the league. Reid had his day in the sun during his first 5 years but after that it was all downhill and people need to understand that and stop this blind belief that he's one of the best coaches in this league...because he's not and hasn't been for quite a few years.

i'm going to hold my opinion on reid, been along time chief fan here. I do like the hire of reid for the Chiefs, the chiefs are better than there 2 and 14 record. the chiefs need a qb if reid can fix that problem then the kc job for reid will be a quick fix. This chiefs team has alot of talent, just needs a qb and an offensive oc, not that the pro bowl means much anymore but the chiefs did send 7 players to the pro bowl this yr, so the talent there, just need reid to fix the qb spot.

I can't argue that, they do have talent on the Chief. Unfortunately, you are putting your hopes on a coach who's hiring his buddies and family members who have limited or no experience at the new job their were hired for. Your future hinges on a Coach who uses a one dimensional offense and a OC who has been a failure at everything he does....your team is doomed.

After reading a few threads on the Eagles board it just seemed fitting that I keep this thread going. As much as the greater fools say that I'm obsessed with Andy Reid, they are on another thread saying they will be watching Chiefs games and hope Andy turns that franchise around. I expect him to continue on with his average at best coaching while the greater fools think he will turn the Chiefs into a AFC powerhouse for years to come. Who will be right, who will be wrong. I believe the Chiefs can't get any worst than they are now and somehow the greater fools that's a victory for Andy Reid. Just being an average team that loses in the first round of the playoffs every year should not be viewed as a victory because it was done here in Philly and he was still fired. If the Chief's fanbase are satisfied with a competitive team that loses every year because of poor coaching than god bless them, but Andy's philly followers should not view that as a victory because that will prove once and for all that they are.....BLIND!

Not all fans thought andy was a bad coach MOKNOWS..i think he did a very good job here..he had some down years ( what teams doesn't) he had some bad draft picks ( no team hits on all their picks)..Andy won more games than any coach in Philly history, won more playoff games then any coach in Philly history..but yet some still say he sucked..they will soon see when Andy wins in KC how spoiled we were...

I swear that this line by the blindfaithful is used more times then Cowboy fans telling us that Dallas has 5 Super Bowl rings after a Cowboys defeat to the Eagles

won more playoff games then any coach in Philly history..but yet some still say he sucked..
I agree, but he did that at a time when the NFC East was poor division so it made him look better than he really was. I never said that he sucked...I'm saying he's OVERRATED. He's an average coach at best NOT one of the greatest as you make him out to be. By the way, he won more Super Bowls than any coach in Philly history also, no wait a minute....

they will soon see when Andy wins in KC how spoiled we were...
Win what??? A few regular season games and flop in the first or secord round? You would actually call that a victory...wouldn't you? You blindfaithful followers are just plain clueless!
