I see you knew what it was all about, Flamingohead.....Great Comment!  By the way, I didn't know Russell Wilson was white! Even their so-called facts are wrong. I know you and I, have better things to do, than to play with stupid children.

The real problem here is reversed racism. The fact that 8 head coaches were hired and none were black means nothing. Yet black people say it MUST mean racism is still playing a factor. What if it didn't? How do you know it did? Why do you feel you have to point it out everytime it happens? Its a BS copout for their own failures. As far as the slavery issue goes, this is where I draw the line. Black people are ignorant to the facts. What happened to blacks was actually the least atrocious suppression of a people in the existence of mankind. Open a freaking history book and educate yourselves. Your plight was ginger compared to the atrocities that occurred for thousands and thousands of years before you. And none with such a rosey ending as yours. I am of Irish descent. My people were treated far worse than any blacks in America. And I bet most blacks don't know or don't care that their were just as many Asian and Irish slaves in this country. I have abcestors who built this countries railroads behind a whip. But I don't run around calling myself "Irish-American" and asking for handouts and crying racism eveytime someone else gets something I wanted. I understand that I have to work hard for everything I get in life. And if I don't work hard enough, or I don't get the results I wanted, I can't expect people to hand it to me out of pity. Blacks will never admit they are at fault for everything they get in life. What happened to them was actually a blessing. Try getting a high profile, high paying job in Africa (where blacks are treated far worse by other Blacks!). I could go on and on but I know it won't matter. Sorry about no paragraphs, my outdated iPhone doesn't let me do that.

Very funny blacks throw the word "racist" at ease, yet most of them don't even hide how racist they are. That's all they talk about is race. It's the #1 subject to them...which black is succeeding at what . And if that black..,isn't black enough..they hate him. Most ironic thing in the history of ironic things.

Aside from being one the greatest coaches, if not the greatest coach in the NFL, Bill Walsh was instrumental in developing minorities in the sport since his days at Stanford. In 1987 he started the Minority Coaching Fellowship which to this day has assisted a few thousand coaches .. Many of them are house names today.

By the way, it isn't just white America that has a problem with some blacks actions....although its expected they get all the blame. Other countries are far more racist towards blacks than people here. Asia ...all of it...can't stand blacks. That's a fact. Europeans as well. List goes on. White America has the most power, so of course they will get all the blame. After all they were the ones who brought blacks here( although same thing with the Chinese , yet I don't see that holding them back ;) ) . Blacks read these types of posts and quickly dismiss them, chalking it up to racism. That's how they justify everything, irgnoring reality...how the world views them. Obviously not all..I'm generalizing, there's actually a lot of blacks out there that can't stand the negative outlook on their race...ashamed of it, not wanting to be associated with it. This post looks like I'm racist...its true..,I'm racist towards complainers. I can't stand people who constantly complain about things being unfair. Therefore I'm racist towards white liberals ( and I'm actually a democrat) , flyers fans, and anyone else who lives life with a "poor me " attitude .

I would have fired him too.  I would have fired him years ago.  that's beside the point though.
Actually, this IS the perfect point. Forget color of skin. Lovie is a good guy and a good coach, but most people say the same thing; he should have been fired years ago.

If you see this and think this tbb, what the hell is wrong with owners and GM's thinking the exact same thing?

He did not get the most out of his teams. I feel the EXACT same way about Less Miles. And he's white! Sports people care about winning. Lovie wins more games or goes to the playoffs more, he's still the head coach. Nobody gives a chit if he's black or white. I would kill for Charlie Strong to be the LSU coach. Who cares if he's black? He gets wins!

Owners want to win. This racism thing is old and weak in sports.

If I owned a team.  I would follow the Rooney Rule and interview a black candidate just for sake of the rule.  Bottom line is I am going to hire who I want to hire.  I am not going to waste one year or two years on a coach just for the sake of appeasing the NFL.   Lovie Smith is probably the best one out there and IMO he was average.

How would you feel as a player if ownership hired an average coach over one with higher potential.  As soon as I was eligible I know I would be on the next flight out of town no matter how much money they offered me (minus franchise tag of course).

Finally When Ozzie Newsome  (black GM) hired John Harbaugh (White Coach) I didn't hear any screaming about the Rooney Rule then.  They hired the right guy case closed.

But drawing attention to race everywhere isn't necessarily a good thing for progress.

IF race is an issue then ignoring it is more damaging to progress.

Has anyone considered the possibility that whites are just better coaches than blacks?

I'm sure if you look at the percentage of black head coaches who made it to and won a superbowl and the percentage of white head coaches who made it to and won a superbowl, reletively speaking of course, you'll find that black head coaches have a higher percentage. Better question would be do you think that it's possible that black head coaches are better than whites?

That is because better coaches get more chances.  Maybe if blacks were better coaches they would get more chances.

Or of course maybe if more owners think less like you then black coaches would get more chances.

were th 49rs Raceists  for replaceing  Singletarry with  Harbaugh ?

Absolutely not.  The 49ers did the right thing by hiring Singletary.  He had proven to be a great assistant, he did a good job as the interim, he deserved the job.  Then he failed and they hired the guy that they thought would deliver them a championship.  He has one more game to go.  Both were the right hire IMO.  I can say though that guys who were never coordinators tend to fail as head coaches, no matter what color they are.  Singletary needs to hold that title before he is hired as a head coach again.

But is it really due to racism?  Couldn't it be that whites are just better head coaches?

If we were talking about RBs, for example, and I said that blacks are just better RBs than whites and someone argued that it was due to racism then I would point to the fact that the vast majority of RBs are black as evidence supporting my argument.

If I can use the fact that the overwhelming majority of RBs are black as evidence that blacks are better RBs than whites then why can't I use the same argument to say that whites are just better coaches than blacks?

The argument doesn't hold water because white guys still get the chance to play RB. there are still plenty of them in the NFL.  Once they get to the NFL they tend to not be good enough to be stars but they do hold roster spots. You can't really think though that paying a guy for an average of 3 years and handing him a ball is the same as handing over the reigns of your franchise to someone.  That's just a ridiculous comparison.  A btter comparison would be the amount of black head coaches in basketball to football.  There are successful black coaches in basketball and a lot more of them.  are they just smarter than black football coaches?  I would say no.

They are poor leaders,  most had their fathers run out on them and most dont raise their own children. Sad but true and statistics prove it.

Yes most black men had their fathers run out on them and all are poor leaders.  And someone said that people like me are what's wrong with this country!!!!
