As a result of the aforementioned "excuse", they had inept coaches, drafted mostly crappy players, and even cut Johnny Unitas when he was in the Steelers training camp.  But no, you idiots know more about Steelers history than a third generation, lifelong fan and any explanation as to why they were the doormat of the league is an excuse.  The saying back then used to be "If you can't make it in the NFL, you can always play in Pittsburgh".

Nah, dbldwn, the Steelers sucked back then so clearly they couldn't have been offering steroids since steroids are the only reason the team was ever any good.  Remember?  You guys are Steeler Historians and should write a book about it since everything I've stated is nothing more than an excuse.
