whats a worse franchise... one that makes it to the championship 3 times in 40 years or one that probably doesn't even have 3 playoff wins in 40 years.

Unless of course ... you want to be like the Cleveland fans and count your 1963 AFL Championship Game Loss. Just sayin'

I don't want to count any losses! But I thought you were talking SBs.

1 was -1 in '63 so that game never happened anyway Wink

Unfortunately, no, 4 SB Losses '85, '86, '07, '11 + 3 SB wins, '01, '03, '04 = (-1), if you count the AFL, it's (-2)Wink

Let's just stop arguing and agree on one thing:

It would be really beneficial to know the other team's formations, plays, and gameplans ahead of time.

bear-man 11: The poll does not ask who is good now, or who has been the best since you've been watching, or who has the most Superbowl titles.

The poll is asking WHAT FRANCHISE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.

There's only one clear cut answer to this question, and the ALL TIME stats show one clear winner.
I guess when you come into a conversation at the end, you might feel bright tryin' to school someone. Hate to break it to you though, I left my three cents a few pages before you jumped in there, slugger. FYI: I said title town, not chi town the windy city.
- TEAM STATS

Most regular season wins:  Chicago Bears - 712

Most combined wins: Chicago Bears - 729

Highest winning percentage regular season: Chicago Bears - .575

Highest winning percentage overall: Chicago Bears - .575
Your stats are about as good as passing yards.

And it's also very detrimental to have a cry baby qb who runs out of the nfccg.

Charlie Sheen said it best:  Winning!

Who cares about selected meaningless stats about who was the best of the losers in a particular year?  If you win, you matter.  If you don't, you don't.

Green Bay - 13 championships in 93 years, including 2 in the last 20 to indicate that the franchise is still relevant today

Next closest is 9 in 92, but none in the last 25 years indicating that this franchise is no longer noteworthy.

Superbowl era is the Steelers - all 6 championships in the last 40 years of their 80-year history.

Steelers without a doubt. Sure Green Bay was something before electricity, getting thosein an era that resembles Football today as much as we all enjoy our horse and buggy rides to the Barn dance, but in the era where football as we know it today was played, it's Pittsburgh.

I hereby nominate Sol for Poet Laureate, 2013.

Hmmm, one BIG FLAW and a question.
-
The Big Flaw: This is like comparing QBs on straight up total Passing yards, it doesn't mean jack **** if you don't consider the number of attempts. (<pay attention Drew Brees jock remoras) Likewise, it should be Playoff appearences DIVIDED by number of years in the NFL. But "in the NFL" starting when? before 1933, they handed out those candied assed irrelevant gift titles with no championship game, and from 1933-1967 they had a championship game but no true playoffs, so you could only realistically count playoff appearences since 1967, which sounds right to me because that's when Football as we know it started.
-
The question: Are you counting non-NFL playoffs? AAFC and AFL?
