You know, geneh, I come here to argue sports.  I enjoy the banter, the back and forth, the disgreements, and the smack talk.  It's a good diversion for me.  My personal life has nothing to do with it, I learned that the hard way.

The reason?  That last posts show us.  Here we have some angry little fellow, one who claims to have been a mercenary in Africa, a student at Carnegie Mellon, and even one who visited Boise, if we are to believe him.  I suspect that he has mental issues, and some serious problems in relating to others.  It would be interesting indeed to read the notes from the last shrink who evaluated him.

So someone with this kind of a so-called background has now reduced his life to throwing out copy and paste insults to anyone who bothers to respond to him.  I'd be willing to bet that he is giddy with excitement right now, knowing that his nonsense has caused two other people to pause their debate to deal with him.  Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

It's sad, really, sad, that the world has tortured souls like this inhabiting it.  But he did admit that his trip to Boise gave him a bad case of food poisoning.  Considering the quality of his dialog, I can only imagine the quality of the eating places he chose to patronize.  After all, the Rescue Mission was too good for him.

It's probably wrong for me to do this, but I actually get a chuckle out of it.  I should be more charitable and Christian, I suppose, our little friend is actually cying out for help.

I hate to admit it, but FL actually played THE toughest SOS in CF this year.....5 top 10 teams....blasting FSU and Texas A & M on the road(the team that beat Bama AT Bama) killing SC by 20, LSU, and only losing to #3GA in regular season play and going 11-1...they were WAY too harshly judged for a ten pt loss in a bowl game to a good Louisville team. Period....but since they are FL, or maybe SEC, whatever it is, they apparently can't play ANY crap games...lol...you people that ragged on them are hypocrites. Did YOUR team do that well???

Smiles and I disagree on nearly everything on these boards in the past year or so. But he aint no troll. He posts with purpose. He loves his team and defends them to the utmost, which I have a great deal of respect of him for.

Boise State has a GIMMICK program. No one will ever take them serious, nor should they, until they step up and stop being the Carrot Tops of CFB. And yeah, that includes ditching the blue field. 

I agree with Demo-D (and most others.)  

And the Navy guy was espousing plain common sense.

Gimmick programs aren't ranked in the top 25 year after year.

Gimmick programs don't win their conference titles 8 out of 10 years.
Gimmick programs don't have 6 players off of its last year's team making waves in the NFL.

Gimmick programs don't have the best overall winning record in all division one football this century.

Gimmick programs aren't fought over between two conferences, who engage in a bidding war to win their favor.

Gimmick programs don't beat top 10 teams in their own backyard.

Gimmick programs don't have losing AD's whining about them in public.

Gimmick programs don't have dozens of such loyal detractors that gaurantee that any Boise St. thread will gets lots of spirited debate.

Now, even Boise fans admit that the Blue turf is a gimmick.  But let's paraphrase the words of hall of fame coach, Dick Tomey, "it's not the blue uniforms, it's the fellows wearing those blue uniforms."

But I will admit, that baiting some poor shut-in like barnocki, aka, diffendale to always chime in with an angry put-down, now that's a gimmick.  I plead guilty to that one.

For gimmick program, Boise sure seems to have accomplished a lot!

Gimmickk programs do Play a SOS of 117 though and blame others for it.    

But again whether you hate them or not, gimmick programs don't finish in the top 15 nine times in the last 11 seasons.

Looks like the gimmick's working quite well.

Boise State is not a gimmick program. They play hard nosed football similar to the BCS teams. If you are looking for a gimmick CFB team, look no further than Georgia Tech or any of the service academies. These schools run gimmick offenses because they do not want to spend the money to get a coach good enough to recruit or coach well enough to win without a gimmick offense.

Service academies run gimmick offenses to win because can't and won't recuit just to win football games. I don't know what GT's excuse is - other than they don't want to fork out enough money to get a Saban or a Meyer so they settle for a much cheaper Johnson. Which is one of the reasons I don't support their football program anymore.





My son is a senior at GT and I do believe GT is one of the best academic schools on the planet so I do help support them academically. But I'm hardly rich so it isn't like I'm able to contribute a whole lot of money.

The Chinese government currently has an agreement with GT to send many engineering students there because they realize that GT alumni pretty much helped bring South American countries out of third world handout country status. GT alumni designed and built their original equipment and roads to help modernize them. GT got the nickname "Rambling Wreck" becuase that's what the South Americans called many of their machines. LOL

Urban Meyers and Nick Sabans don't grow on trees, geneh. It's awfully hard for anybody to land those kind of elite coaches even if you do have the money to "fork it over." Don't be so hard on your former Yellowjacket team.
