Top 5 Overrated Top 5 Underrated

I know Kentucky started out at #3 but anyone with common sense knew that it was WAY to high. Clearly they were not at that level.

I really don't have the time to go back through the pre-season posts. This was the trending theme among UK fans prior to this season:

1. Ninth Championship, here we come!
2. We may not be #1 or #2 (Indiana and Louisville), but UK is definitely top 5
3. Finally the minority of UK fans were willing to say that UK should start the season ranked, at the least, #10

Get outta here with this bogus "Clearly they were not at that level" crap. Everybody except UK fans knew that UK didn't deserve a top-20 or even top-15 ranking. You don't lose your top 6 scorers, have one guy returning with experience and be the #3 team in the country.

Do I think UK could get streaky and win a few? Yes. Do I think they can win the whole thing? No. And it's mostly because they lack leadership. In the Sweet 16, Elite 8 and Final 4 you need some veteran presence for guys to rally around. Last year you had Miller, this year it's Wiltjer? Mays? Harrow?

This is the reason teams like Michigan with Hardaway and Burke, Kansas with Withey, Johnson, Releford and Young, Florida with Boynton and Young, Indiana with Watford, Oladipo, and even Miami with their upper classmen are favored to go deep.

Now next year will be different for UK, especially if several guys stick around. They'll once again have a combination of experience and youth/talent. 

Must be worth your time, UConn, since your basketball team isn't worth watching this year;-) U r amusing to me though...kinda like Trolley, or pubic hair....grows on ya. See, I never sit here and Bragg about my team, even though we were undefeated in CF and beat Michigan in basketball the supposed #1 team, AND are currently top 10 material in bball, something most people would drool over, because we are so great that everyone jumps on one sentence praising tOSU. I think Duke, FL, Bama fans, etc. ALL have the same issue. We are just THAT good and it royally pisses everyone off. For example, even when Michigan is supposed to be the best bball team in the country, look who beats them....the only teams out of ANY conference that can talk smack about us without just looking like a jealous homer are from the SEC....and that can be said about any other University,as well. For gods sake, they have the NC in football AND basketball!

And Your 1981 NC is too long ago for most of us to remember, Gramps....I was born in that decade.

If you actually read the posts here, there was some SERIOUS bragging about how at least 4 to 6 MWC teams were better than anyone in the Big East, BIG, 12, etc. I was only disagreeing until everyone jumped me for being an OSU guy. Nobody cares that you did (or didn't) go to tOSU.  No one.

Yeah, I like the '81 I.U. NC team because they were pretty good and I acyually watched them play, unlike yourself. The '87 team also won the NC after beating a semi-pro team in UNLV in the semi-final.

BTW, I'm not a bandwagon anything, college basketball is just something lesser to chat about when football season is over;) I grew up in an ACC family watching college bball because that is all that we had....thank god it was Carolina and Duke in our family, so I've seen plenty of National Championships....ones that the rest of the country remember;)

There was no reason to follow ND football this year anyway...after coasting thru a weak schedule and getting EXPOSED in the NCG. I know that we (OSU) had a weak schedule and went "undefeated", as well...and dismantled ND
