Kinik, I followed Phil his last nine. It was awesome. His confidence was showing in his every move. I have followed players in the past, even TW, and this was by far the most electrifying rd. Fans were running to the next hole to secure a viewing spot. Now I do have a "beef" about some fans. Those of the us who walked with him, up, down n around big hills had to look through this wall of fans who had parked their butts 3/4 deep taking up the good viewing positions. I think the course managers should have a VIP section for walkers! LOL
Also Kinik, Mickelson in your line up and ON THE BENCH. You have to learn "how to hold them and learn when to play them". LOL Good choice though.
regardless of the field, this was a pretty impressive performance, especially the first 9 holes (the back 9). That was an unbelievable lip-out on the final hole. That sucker looked dead center all the way, and at the right speed. Don't know how if failed to drop. Guess Phil choked on that one.
Great round by Phil no matter what the field. When he starts out hot like this he most of the time finishes strong. I would not bet against him on this course and this tournament.
I hope he wins it is back and competes well in the majors with Tiger. Would love to see a battle at the Masters and US Open.
Kinik's absolutely correct..60 is 60 no matter how you slice it..Phil's had a few rounds like that before and if anyone thinks it's a pitch and putt course they best think again..there's water all over that course and you let a few tee shots go awry in the wrong direction and you'll get a "splash" for sure!
2cents, it appeared to everyone he had made that last putt..oh those putts that loop the inside of the hole and come back atcha like a big grin say'n not this time!!
ILG, wear a shirt that's the same color as the scorers or those volunteers who help marshall the crowd..then get a sign say'n "quiet please"!!
