Ray Lewis: First ballot HoFer?

Ray Lewis can't get in until Tim Brown and Chris Carter get in.......no doubt Ray is a HOF but TB and CC are too and they will have waited much longer.

IMHO CC should have been in before Michael Irvin...look at those Cowboys teams...great players all over. Carter had Cunningham and Moon on the decline of their careers throwing him the ball. It just further illustrates that the NFL HOF basically gives a popes squat about off field incidents

Six children, four women.

Paid and ratted his way out of a jail sentence for a murder.

A recently recorded order for deer spray and "the regular stuff".

And soooo many incidents we are not privy to.

And he has the audacity to cite God as his driving force...

So which of those things are preventing him from being a 1st ballot HOFer, exactly?

Not the deer antler spray, I hope, because many guys are doing more than that..

The murder thing is so old..what's next..the words rad and fresh are coming back?

6 children, 4 women...yup he is the ONLY guy in the NFL who can't keep it in his pants...wasn't there a story about Marino this week?

Stuff we don't know about? facepalm facepalm...I get it, he is a polarizing person, but I guess I missed the memo about the HOF only letting "good" guys in..sheesh.

Yes, Ray gets in on his 1st try with no problem....

And to whoever thinks Cunningham and Moon were not good QB's???

You're a moron plain and simple....

yes, i dont care if you like the guy or not! he is one of the best lbs ever! i know the haters will say " he has 4 kids and 3 diiferent wifes", as if that has anything to do with if he is a hall of famer or not! he is one of the 1 -5 best middle lbs to ever play the game, how can u be one of the top 5 best at a postion and not be a first ballot hall of famer?? that makes no sense to me! and to a degree, i kinda think that whole first ballot thing is arrogance on the voters part, yes i do think it should be reserved for the very best ( the jerry rice or barry sanders of the worlds) but after that the player is either a hall of famer or he isnt, i mean what changes in what a player did between say his 4 or 5 times on the ballot? nothing!!

I hate the guy, but this really isn't a question. If you are looking at strictly on feild performance then no doubt.. hey we already have one murderer in the HOF anyways,

The deer antler spray might keep him out, but not the murders.

Sadly, yes he is a first-ballot HOF'r. He might even be the best linebacker to ever play the game.

But first ballot HoF isn't strictly about on the field. Irvin's arrest was in 1996 and his last game was in 1999 in Philly. He wasn't selected on his first year. Nor was he selected on his second - it took until his THIRD try to get in. And he wasn't involved in a double homicide. It's clear to most of us that Ray was involved enough to get rid of a really expensive suit and told people to lie - and I think the voters make him pay for that. Don't get me wrong, he still gets in - just not on his first year.

People still want to know what happened that night.

It's seems pretty obvious that some guys were looking for trouble and found it.

They were looking for trouble and they found it? Does that mean that they DESERVED to die? So tell, me...what did these two people do to deserve to die that night?

...Even in "decline" they were still very, very good QBs.....You're acting like they were Tim Tebow or Akili Smith back there throwing to Carter...

You're just a biased Vikes fan who is mad that Carter is not in the Hall....Even if Irvin Had those 2 QB's in "decline" then he still would have made it to the Hall.....
