Terps and Wake

If we lose this one..well season over IMHO. I think we will win it though...then again at Va Tech to even it out at 5-5....THEN..VA at home. I'm going Stanrod here and predicting 3 in a row. Yes then we will get out hopes up when Duke come to town after that. But I still can't figure out what line-up is best for this team right now..several of our guys are outright sucking and Turg is making some bad decisions too and that dude needs to WAKE UP and get a little pissed/animated over there on the bench..I mean i know maybe it's not his way but these losses HAVE to be getting under his skin. I wouldn't even mind a little meltdown/technical foul if you know what I mean lol. I 'm getting really concerned about the continued TO's and Len turning back into a tentative wuss. Any predictions guys. I think it's gonna be rather close like the BC game..around 5-10 pts.

I am not sue he is making bad decisions.  heis making no decisions at all it seems. And the fact that it isn't his way would make i even more effective. If it is so bad that even Mark gets animated then maybe we need to pay attention" type thing. i n my opinon both FSU losses are on him. Any game that we lose by less than 5 points is on him because he does nothing to change the momentum of the game and he lets the officials get away with murder. I get the feeling that he is saying that since we are not executing why bother. You bother because it;s your job to win game and you are as big a part of that as whoever is or is not running the plays on the court. He is failing his players. Yes he absolutely need to get a technical or even thrown out of the game to let every9one know he isn't taking the short end of the stick, especially at home. Having 4 fouls called your way in the entire second half at home is criminal and it wold not have happened the previous 23 years.


We should beat WF but they have played some pretty good games lately. It is now February. iIt is money time. if you are going to make your run towards a poste season tournament it starts now. Two wins in a row would be a great start. I honestly dop not think we are beatin the hoos though. At least not as both teams are playing right now and Duke is in a different zip code from us. I see us at 5-7 befopre getting a chance to make an end of season run and maybe winnign a couple games in the ACC tournament.


Anybody else see where they are now talkling about moving thr ACC tournament? After Gary complained for 20 years now the NC schools had such huge advantage each year, now that w are leaving they decide maybe he was right? Hypocrits. NC is not the mecca of college basketball anymore and if they don';t come off their high horse they are going to lose alot more good programs.    

Ok we got a 15 pt lead in 1st half...shooting % on fire...but it will cool off. Let's see how we play with a lead for a change...

No sooner do I post that than a missed 3 and they score 6 quick unanswered points then a patented Faust turnover. This is where a TIMEOUT is needed, but of course not called. Keep the damn lead!

Another note...at home, again, we have more fouls than them..you guys hit that one on the head...but still we gotta a godd lead playin good overall don't wanna be negative. Go Terps man turn this season around

Well, it was against Wake Forest, but that was pretty impressive. Faust and Howard still suck, but other than that there is not too much to complain about here. If we can beat the two Virginia Schools that gets up to 6-5 in conference heading into Duke game. Layman is solid. I feel like guys are unstanding their roles better. I don't think judge our Terps too much off of this game, it's just encouraging that we were clearly able to put the heartbreaking FSU loss behind us.

Agreed, TERPS.  A little show of character from the Terps by emphatically bouncing back from the "give away" loss at FSU (who incidentally just got embarrassed on their homecourt by Duke today).  I only caught the last 6:00 of our game and nearly fell over when I turned on the tv and saw that we were up by 27 by that point.  Wake had been playing really competitive ball recently until today.  Sounded like Len and Wells led the early charge but that everyone contributed.  I like the upside for Layman as well and we got another solid outing from Allen...why isn't he starting at this point?!?  Almost every highlight I saw featured Seth leading the charge on some sweet fastbreak conversions!  I was also glad to see Aronhalt hit a couple during garbage time as his shot had been off recently.

Blacksburg is never an easy place to steal a win regardless of what kind of team Va Tech has.  I'll go into that game with the same skepticism I've been embracing for the last month or so.  But today was a great bounce back effort from the Terps in front of a less-than-capacity weekend crowd of only 16,000.  Obviously, the natives are getting restless as these boards have been really quiet this week as well.

And my streak is still intact! 8 in a row whaen I go to the game. Unfortunately only one more for me this year.  It's amazing how high your shooting percentage an be when you are bending the rim on every shot. There for awhile I thought we might not have to take a shot outside of 2 ft, then we started dropping 3's. This is why you have to get everybody in early and see what they have. Not that it was ever close but Aronhodt and Allen were unconcious. Of course he entire 2nd half was garbage time, but he did it the whole game and esecially right after WF would hit one,  and the Defense was very very good. THis is not a good team to ge steals, but the ysty in front of their guy and bother a lot of shots leading to rebounds and a low shooting percentatge defense. It is a game you are supposed to win, and a loss would have been very bad, but it is a statement when you completely dismantle them. What a nice game by Padgett. He seemd to be everywhere and I think he was perfect from the field, rewarding the coach for starting him.


Still pleny to not like. Howard was horrible and we had 19 turnovers while only forcing 8. We did have 7 blocks but again gave up 7 steals. Seemed like more. It just kind of doesnt matter what else you do when you double the other teams shooting percentage, shoot 68% 3pt, and also double the other teams rebounds. This was domination by a hungrier, bigger team. Oh yeah at the end of the game we again were not even in the regular bonus for the 2nd half. Over all they didn't call a lot of fouls at all, but 9 FT attempts in the game for MD? We had 44 pts in the paint and didnt get hacked at all? Not likely.


The arena seemed full to me and it was one of the most energetic crowds I have seen all year. If it wasn't a sellout nobody noticed because it was loud.
