Congrats to AD, well deserved and I agree with what someone said, maybe the award isn't a joke. Not sure why Manning was 2nd, Rodgers had a better year.

Peace...

Just my opinion but MVP should go to the player tha adds the MOST VALUE to his team.  No doubt AD takes it hope; with him the Vikings were a playoff team...without him they're likely sub .500.

Broncos with Tebow was a .500 team that eaked its way into the playoffs (yes, they miraculously one a game too).  With Manning they are 13-3 and ran away with the division, making the playoff easily.

Those are two pretty clear examples of specific players adding value.  Yes, Rodgers had a great year and so did Brady but it's harder to quantify their added value, in my opinion.

At the end of the day AD was the obvious and clear choice....everyone else was a pretty distant second.

Honestly it shouldn't have been close. It seemed like one of the best seasons for a RB ever. Considering how pass happy the league has become.Compare AD numbers with the next 4 runners next to Manning with the next 4 passers.Although about 400 of those yds came against the Pack, who shut him down in the playoffs.

who shut him down in the playoffs.
Its shows how great someone is when 99 yards, 4.5 ypc is shutting someone down.  Lets be honest though, he didn't go for over 100 cause Joe Webb was in there and couldn't keep the team on the field.  With Ponder it would have been a totally different ball game, not saying a Viking victory but a much different ball game.  I just love how some, not close to all, but some Packer fans act like it was such a big accomplishment and that they did so much to the Vikings in the Wild Card game.  Joe Webb was pitiful, that lost the game for the Vikings more than the Packers beat the Vikings.  He threw some of the worst passes I have ever seen, worse than McNabb last year throwing it into the ground basically every play.

On to Peterson, he deserved it and was hands down the winner.  I would have never acknowledged the award again if he hadn't have won it.

I'll just reiterate what many are saying here and that is that Peterson deserved to win and I'm glad he did. He was that Vikings team this year. They had no consistent passing game and an average D. To go 10-6 and make the playoffs was all on AP. Good for him.

He did? Manning led the league in total QBR - a rating that measures a quarterback’s total impact (it was the 2nd highest rating in 5 years), and had an 11 game winning streak. They both lost in round one.

Disagree. Harvin was the Vikings MVP until he got hurt, and 5/6 of AP's best stat games weren't even wins. They only won when Ponder's QBR broke 70. Running backs just aren't as valuable to their teams as QBs. Sorry. Maybe they need their own award.

He's still a great player who had a great season, just not the league MVP.

yeah right chub. AD got most of that yardage with the game well out of reach and had about 30 in the first half. He couldn' t get it done when it mattered. I am not trying to be sour gapes and ruin the moment though.Because it will be the vikes most significant succes for quite a span. hehe

Again, the only words I have to say is Joe Webb.  Just admit that it was a gimme game to you guys.

Peterson had a great year after amiracuous comeback, almost too miraculaous.  So the uniqueness of the situation garnered him enough votes to win, probably.

I agree that his value to his team is high, but the Vikings are not a playoff team, and were lucky to get there this year.

But read this articel first and then think about it again.  I doubt Vikings fans will be able to be unbiased.

Rodgers had more touchdowns and less interceptions, Jennings missed more than half the season, Jordy Nelson missed a handful of games, Thomas and Deckewr missed zero games. Payton also had a little better running game to help him out.

Denvers 11 game win streak included wins over San Diego twice, Kansas City twice, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Oakland, Cleveland and New Orleans.

Denver made the playoffs last year without Manning, it's just my opinion but the Packers are bottom feeders without Rodgers.

So yes, he did.
