Niners fans need to shut up

Funny....XL was more then just a holding call, but if that is how you wish to remember it fine. BTW the guy he was "Holding" was two yards offside. But that was one of about 10 bad calls in that game.

Get off their jocks desean, it's not like they are Seahawk fans still whining about 2005 even though their team didn't do anything to deserve a win.

49ers' and NFL Fans have to face it. The Ravens are the champs and rightfully so. They werre the hottest team down the stretch. They went thhrough Manning and Broncos and Brady and the Patriots on their home turfs like they werent even there. Give credit where credit is due....the Ravens are the football class of the NFL and they deserve it.

4 of them were made right at the end of the game by Jim Crybaugh.

If you're going to call DPI on the Boldin catch earlier (and the 49er on that play was guilty) then you have to call the hold on the 4th and goal.
So the missed call on Culliver wasn't crucial as well? It prevented a TD.
Both the Ravens and Steelers won their respective SB's and both were controversial. Always will be.
Uh no. You were just dying for something to throw in the Ravens face to make yourself feel better. And I suppose it wouldn't have been controversial if the Ravens lost after that power outage altered the whole course of the game? Please, you'd be telling Ravens fans to shut their whiny mouths if they lost and were upset over that, and would probably have started at least 10 threads about it already. You would then be saying there was NOTHING controversial about the Niners winning it.

We'll never know what I'd have said if the 49er's would have won it.

The fact is that the holding was legit and should have been called. It wasn't and so now the Ravens have a controversial SB as well. The irony is that for years they've been giving us hell about SB XL - and now we can give it right back.

Everyone knows EXACTLY what you would've said. There's no way in hell you would've been able to resist calling Ravens' fans crybabies and telling them that championship teams don't make excuses, they just overcome adversity... but I guess that doesn't apply to the Niners or any team that would've palyed the Ravens. And the irony is that the Ravens did overcome adversity the likes of which no other team in SB history has ever had to deal with.
The fact is that the holding was legit and should have been called. It wasn't and so now the Ravens have a controversial SB as well.
And the fact is that the Ravens also had a TD robbed as well on a missed call. So fine, the Niners get the TD on the final play. The Ravens get their earlier TD and still win. Glad we settled that.
The irony is that for years they've been giving us hell about SB XL - and now we can give it right back.
Except the Steelers/Hawks game was close the entire game. The Ravens were blowing out the Niners until an act of God changed the entire course of the game. The Steelers played like garbage for most of that game. The Ravens did not. Big difference in how each game played out. It shouldn't have even come down to a final play.

Scuba....there is no need to argue with the Steeler Troll. she knows NOTHING about the rules of the game and I finally realized where all her SUPPOSED knowledge of the game comes from. Not the books she claims to own or have read......her posts are almost word for word quotes from "THE NFL network AM shows. I knew I have heard what she posts somewhere and finally saw one post and it all came to light....she knows nothing about the game or the rules and relys on ANNOUNCERS like Eric Davis, Nichole Zamoulis, Steve Wyche and others......word for word and she pawns it off as her original. Now she is nothing but a FRAUD....an EXPOSED FRAUD

I don't get this thread.  Most of the 49ers fans I've seen aren't blaming the refs.  Most have flat out said they should have played better the first half or at least attempted to run the ball at the end with Gore.

All the crying about refs is coming from Steelers fans, Ray Lewis Haters, or Ravens haters.

Some are, but you're right. It's mostly people that have no vested interest in the Niners and only wanted the Ravens to lose.

I'm surprised no one is talking about how pathetic Jim Harbaugh's act is. I really lost a ton of respect for him after this game. I get he wanted that call, but he's also got to realize he had a call go in his favor earlier in the game and that the power outage benefitted his team very much, though he doesn't seem interested in addressing that.

He's acted like a complete crybaby sore loser. It's embarrassing to see a professional HC acting the way he is.

About 2 weeks ago, Ross Tucker was on the radio and he said he was rooting for the Ravens because he really liked John, and said he was a genuinely nice guy. However, when he met Jim, he said he was arrogant and talked down to people he felt were beneath him. Well, it's hard to disagree after seeing how both guys acted after the game.

John actually apologized for overreacting during the outage and said he was disgusted with himself for losing his cool so quick. And Jim? Well, he's acting like the officials robbed him of something that was rightfully his and is blaming them for his own failures in that game.

Everyone knows exactly what you would have said.

Really? Prove that. Go ahead, prove an unknown.

You'd call the Ravens fans crybabies.

Nice that you ASSUME that the Ravens fans would be crying about losing. Who says they would be?

The Ravens overcame adversity like no other team in SB history.

Really? By what yardstick? The 2005 Steelers had to win our last 4 games - including #2 Chicago - just to make the playoffs, then had to beat the #3 Bengals, #1 Colts, and #2 Broncos just to get to face the #1 Seahawks in the SB.

If you look at the schedule of the 2008 Steelers, 10 of the 13 teams we faced that year were playoff teams from either '08 or '07. We had to beat the Ravens - the #2 team in the AFC twice.

The 2010 Packers were more injured than anyone else that year - but they won it all, did they not?

The 2007 Giants were facing the team that everyone thought was the default team to win the SB - and a team that beat them in the regular season. The undefeated Pats.

The Jets had to beat the Colts and no one gave them a chance.

The 1972 Dolphins went undefeated.

So exactly makes you bold about the statement that this team had it harder than anyone else in SB history?

The Steelers/Hawks game was close the entire game.

No, it wasn't. We went up by 11 just seconds into the second half. It stayed that way through most of the 3rd quarter. It was 7-3 coming out of the half and on the second play Willie Parker breaks one for 75 and gives us the 14-3 lead.

The Steelers played like garbage most of that game.

I'll give you that - but so did Seattle.

People forget that after Big Ben ran one in, the Seahawks had 2 minutes to answer. They mismanaged the clock and didn't even get a FG. Then they did it again to end the game.

People also forget that, to set that TD up, Seattle allowed us to pick up a 37 on a 3rd and 26. You can't do that. Rush 3, drop 8 and give up the FG. Nope. They came with 4 on the rush and Big Ben beat them. People forget Seattle fell asleep on the gadget play from ARE to Hines.

The Ravens did not.

In the eye of the beholder.

You're up 28-6 and you let the other team come back and make it a game?!

It shouldn't have come down to the final play.

I agree but the Ravens let the 49er's back in it.

Niners fans need to shut up

February 5, 2013 4:47 pm

Wow.

How could any Niners fan possibly be whining about the officiating?  This must be an NFC West thing....the Seahawks cried, then the Cardinals when they lost, now the 9ers.

How many yards of offense did the 49ers have prior to the blackout and free rest break they got?  That outage changed the whole momentum of the game and allowed the 49ers to get back into a game that they should have been blown out in.

The conspiracy-minded might even venture that the NFL staged the power outage to give the 49ers a chance to pick their jockstraps up off the ground and get back in the game, lest the ratings fall through the basement.

The most vocal aren't always the majority.
Nobody listens to this fact of life.  The national perception of Philly fans is all the proof you need of that.
