Ducks steal Cameron Hunt from Cal??? Hmmm.......

Wow. I knew there were rumors about this for awhile, but I didn't believe it would actually happen.

Cameron Hunt is a very good OL recruit. He's not elite, but he's very good. He's the type of recruit out west that typically will go to USC or UCLA or Cal or Stanford or Washington. Ducks usually get undersized sleeper OL recruits that they need to coach up in order to be decent. But Hunt is a legit OL recruit than any school would be happy to get.

It's not all good news today though. The Ducks got a commit from a 3-star RB. I believe that's their 4th RB and all along they said they would only take 3 RB's in this class. I think that pretty much seals the deal that they know they are losing Dontre Wilson to Ohio State. And that SUCKS!!! Wilson would have really solidied the RB position over the next couple years along with Thomas Tyner.

As long as the Ducks keep Tyner, they should be okay at RB though.

The big suspence now is will the Robinson twins bolt for Washington? I think they definitely will. They have a great recruiter and I heard they put on quite a show for those twins over the weekend.

Losing Wilson & the Robinson twins is not good. But I expected it. At least steal Cameron Hunt will take a little of the sting off it though.

I'm guessing what swayed Hunt to the Ducks is their offensive system. Hunt is very fast for an OL. He's 6'5, 275 pounds, which certainly is not big (not like the boys the SEC gets) but that's the perfect size for what the Ducks do.

Kani Benoit makes 3 RB in the class with Tyner and Wilson.  Benoit is taller and heavier than Wilson and has a 4.48 40 time compared to Wilsons 4.40 so like what half a step?  rated 3 stars but didnt have a lot of offers from bigger schools. not sure what the draw backs on him were. 

Wilson is apparently announcing tonight around 7 west coast time.   

Rumors on the Robinson twins are that they may split up 1 to oregon and 1 to washington.

It sucks that Oregon has lost 3 recent running back signees and converted another to WR(though I do like Huff out there)
Marshall is good though.  and combined with Tyner and even Benoit I think Oregon will be fine with or without Wilson.  In all likelihood Oregon would have lost one of these guys to transtfer within a year anyway. 

We'll see today but according to Hunts twitter he's saying don't believe everything you hear on the internet.

I don't think the twins are leaving, at least not both of them. Wilson would have been nice but I don't think he ever would have been a full time running back. He probably would have ended up backing up DAT and Addison his first year, possibly redshirting. Benoit is considered by some as the best RB coming out of Arizona and his film looks solid. As long as Tyner stays healthy I think we're ok at RB.

Tyner certainly is the biggest key to our offense next year. That's a lot of pressure for a freshman.

We know what we have with DAT. His mere presence helps the offense, even as a decoy. But he's not an every down back.

Byron Marshall appeared solid, but not spectacular, with his limited touches last year. I don't see Marshall ever capable of carrying an offense or having big play potential. But I expect him to be our starter next year, at least to start the season, with Tyner's touches increasing as the season goes along. Kind of like LaMichael's freshman year. By the time Tyner is a sophomore he'll be our every down back with Marshall back where he belongs, as the backup.

Since we only added two RB's in this class there is no chance Kani Benoit will red shirt. He's going to have to contribute next year as well because we can't just have two full-time RB's (Tyner, Marshall) and a hybrid RB/WR (DAT) dress on game day. The Ducks offense requires depth at the RB position.

What is wrong with you?  6'5", at 275 lbs is huge for an 18 yr old.

They should be able to put 30 to 40 pounds on him easily and 6"5 is a nice height for guard or center (could play tackle but typically you want them a little bigger).

Wrong.  He is an elite athlete which any school....including your beavers shortbus....would love to have.  Sorry, he's a Duck so go pound sand!
