Who has the most "break-out" potential for 2013?

February 5, 2013 1:53 pm

Hey, Gang.  Like it or not, the offseason is officially here.  For football junkies like myself, it's never too early to talk draft or NFL 2013.  With that in mind, which current Giants player has the most breakout potential for next season.

Didn't Pierre-Paul breakout in 2011??? He doesn't need to breakout but atone for that garbage season he just had but I went with Randle, I thought it was foolish for the Giants not to use him more.

Wilson and Randle IMO. Linval is what he is but not going to be a Pro-Bowler. Prince will continue to grow as well.

Yea, JPP def already broke out, most likely the reason he didn't have that great of a year this year.

Wilson without a doubt. I think Randle will be good, but he is our 3rd right now... Wilson gets the nod and we saw what happens when he does. this guy can run and make people miss. He also can shed tacklers. I think he is special and I believe that he will atone for some lack of "great" drafts we have had... I think Wilson can be the real deal, he could catch out of college and we didn't really utilize that part of his skill set yet. This guy can be a potential 2000 total yard guy given the touches. He is like birth control 99.9 % baby! Tongue out

Wilson has to prove it against good competition, his production came against bad teams in garbage time so I am a little skeptical about him being the lead dog right now but I think Randle's impact on the passing game in particular on Nicks and Cruz is huge. The 3rd WR option killed us last year especially with Nicks at 50% all year.

I tihnk it's Wilson.  He is first round talent and will number one on the depth chart.  Randall, could very well have an impact but it will be harder to see.  If he has one or two breakout games he may draw some coverage which will lead to Cruz and Nicks getting free and that's where the ball will go.

Wilson will be much more obvious and easier to see.  It's not fair to Randle to expect the same results from him as the third option compared to a starting RB.

I'd love for it to be a LB'er but I just don't see it

I feel like I'm reliving the Micah Rucker days... Ramses Braden is terrible.. He can't beat press man coverage which apparently everyone knew except the Panthers who were playing off man the entire game.

Yeah he fared pretty well against the Eagles, especially on that offensive PI that cost us decent field position, pushed Tynes out of range and gave us that extra loss that effectively kept us out of the playoffs.  He needs to go away, stop inserting his name into posts.  As far as the breakout player, I think it's Randle.  I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson is splitting carries with Andre Brown next year.

I'm not saying Barden is worth keeping or not, but come on bro he saved ELITE Manning from throwing a game ending INT with that penalty. There is a list of boneheads on that play and he's not one of them. Coughlin and Kildrive for not running the ball and Manning for throwing it up when the WR clearly wasn't open at a time in the game where a turnover was the only thing that would blow it for you.

Why do you continue to use the term elite manning like you don't have respect for a dude that helped bring back 2 titles to New York... It's ridiculous.. And no I don't think he's elite and really don't care if he is or not.. I know we can win championships with him.. That's all most of us care about

Oh boy, Barden saved Eli.  He hasn't saved anything in 4 years except a bunch of paychecks for doing nothing.  I find it quite interesting who people choose to direct their negativity at on this board.  Elite Manning?  That's just sad, I thought I had to go to the main boards to hear that nonsense.

Navy, did you get amnesia in your absense? I've been calling him that all of this subpar season and it ruffles your azz hairs now? He threw the pass right to Nnamdi and it would have been a game ending INT if not for the PI. If you don't know that, you didn't see the game.

Exactly, that loss is squarely on the "bonehead(s)" who decided to pass instead of run straight up the gut, kick the damn ball, make the FG and go home. You kind of had a feeling, right then, that loss was going to come back to bite us at the end of the season.  Not that they deserved to make the playoffs the way they finished the season.

It doesn't matter, I recognize that it wasn't a good throw Ripped.  However, the fact is that Eli Manning is the least of the Giants problems.  Not even a problem at all actually.  That's really the only thing that annoys me about any of eliteness nonsense.  I don't think anyone is calling him elite right now, but he is still a good QB.
