One less guy to follow for fantasy

It is being reported that the Cards Chris Carpenter will likely not play in 2013 due his arm not bouncing back from his latest surgery as it was supposed to.  That, and as of right now, he seems to be leaning more towards retirement than he is looking for more surgery and rehab.

While he did have some really good seasons, he looks to be yet another guy to be lumped into the catagory of "what could have been".

It is.  However, they only need the 2012 first half Lance, and not the 2nd half version.  That, and I am sure that Kyle Lohse is looking a lot more attractive to them than he did 24 - 48 hours ago.

The amazing thing about STL though is that they plug randoms in all the time and somehow they workout...  There really is some kind of magic playing for this team...

While I do follow you here, I would think and hope the reason guys seem to do better once they get to St. Louis would have something to do with having good coaches, with the ability to spot flaws with players, and with the info and wisdom as to how to correct whatever problem they see.

No magic about it. There is a logical reason and his name is Dave Duncan. It will be interesting to see how the pitching staff responds this year. He has voluntarily left the team to tend to his wife who has cancer.
