What do true NCAA fans think about SEC paying

I can't believe you are pointing the finger at the SEC for paying players.

OU had to forfeit all of it's wins from the 2005 season. Why because players were paid for work they did not perform? They had their scholarships reduced and were put on 2 years probation by the NCAA. Also, OU had to reduce the number of coaches allowed to recruit during the 2006 season.  i wouldn't be pointing any fingers at any other teams about paying players!

These are documented facts of the sanctions levied against OU by the NCAA. I would be willing to bet it is still going on with the OU football team. Paying players to play football. If you are going to pay your players to play you should at least get your moneys' worth.

What do you NCAA fans think of OU being caught paying players to play by the NCAA! Why would anybody believe that OU has stopped these practices of paying players? If you want to be really good maybe you need to pay these players more.

Bama - I think OU had the wins reinstated from '05, but agree w/ you in that OU fans should not be calling out other schools for paying players (pot, kettle, black)

Dont get me wrong it is fun to screw with the SEC fans about paying players.  But IMO, I think all the big universities do this.  Now it may or may not happen more in the SEC but they are not alone.  As far as Vandy, I do not count them as a "SEC" school.  They are different and really do not belong in that league.

I don't believe it to be true. At least not with my Huskers. Oh, I know, I am just another homer. Okay, but there is no more loyal fan base in the land. We know, that is no dream for anyone to live in Lincoln. So, if every school was paying players. Trust me, no one would match how much we would pay kids to come to Lincoln. If the Huskers fans were paying kids to come to Nebraska....we would be having better classes every year.

Saban coming into Alabama and doing the same thing he did at LSU to anyone with common sense knows what goes on

Stoops, stoops, stoops, When are you going to wake up and realize that Saban is just a better coach than 90% of the coaches in college football. Your own namesake cant coach his way of a wet paper bag, and you want to cast stones at teams that win consistently.

Its pretty common knowledge that all top teams pay their players in one form or another....hell, even the NCAA is not blind to this. Its when they go overboard that the NCAA gets involved. Saban, nor any other coach in the SEC is doing any more than any other top school is going to get recruits...except maybe doing something on the field other teams cant do, win titles.

Every so often you crawl out fromunder your rock to cast a stone or two, then slink back to whatever other screen name you use. You always rail on the SEC, but fail to see your own school is guilty of the same deeds and you and i have talked about this before. Sad how thoise receivers that wanted playing time decided to leave for better surroundings. they took the moeny and ran, so to speak. Even with a top QB(supposedly) and great frisbee catching dogs, your team was no more than an after though for several of the past few years. That says coaching all day long, so i would shop on my own front door step before i go venturing out to other parts of the world. Seems your area needs a new sherrif to make the inmates toe the line.
