I can say I am very satisfied with this class. Now all we need is Ezekiel Elliot to reaffirm his commitment this afternoon and it will be a very solid day.
I will believe Bell is a Buckeye when I hear it reported that Urb has the signed LOI in his hands. The news sounds good, but I have not heard confirmation of the signing, just the commitment. The paper is what is important, not the words.
I've always taken the recruiting rankings with a bit of a grain of salt. I mean, is there really a huge dropoff from the #3 class to the #8 class? I think both classes are going to fine, honestly. But for the moment (and it may not last) both Rivals and Scout have the Buckeyes at #1. Maybe Michigan or Alabama aren't done yet (and who knows if the soft verbals hold true), but Meyer has done a nice job of addressing need and loading up on talent regardless.
I follow the o-zone for recruiting updates. Bell announced his "committment" at around 10:00. The O-zone had it up on their site at 10:10 as a committment. At 12:10, they announced that OSU had received the fax. While it was good news, it was not official until the fax was sent. Anything could have happened in those 2 hours.
In other words, him saying "Ohio State", even if it was on national TV, was not binding. Signing his name (and having is parents sign if he's 17) still isn't good enough. Only after the signed document is received by OSU is it binding.
Rivals is reporting that he faxed his LOI. chill man, chill
Dude, I just said that the o-zone reported at 12:10 that OSU received the LOI. Apparently you didn't get my point. Bell saying that he was going to OSU meant just as much as Tavion Jacobs or Ezekial Elliott saying they were going to OSU. It seems like that was where he was headed, but until the paper (the LOI) says so, you just don't know 100% for sure.
