Great Article on Why Lions Drafted Titus Young

Here's a great read that sheds some light on Mayhew's decision to draft Titus Young. It covers interviews and notes from scouts, as well as what the national analysts and scouting websites had to say about Young coming out.

Obviously he was without a doubt the wrong pick, but this atleast gives some insight into why he was drafted above some other WRs who have turned out to be much better players.

It's definitely worth a read.

Man TP2 that is one great and thorough article.

It says alot about how titus was being viewed at the time and IMO the one thing that stood out was the commentof his jealousy.

They put him in a position to succeed with veteran leaders and a good coach and instead of emulating their behaviors, he became jealous of their accomplishments.

This was one of the best parts of the article.  Titus had every advantage at his disposal.  He could've learned from the best in the NFL in CJ, but instead chose to act like a baby b/c he wasn't getting the ball enough.  Sad sad story.

I think all Lions fans need to make a pact that if we ever see Titus anwhere we tap him on the shoulder and sucker punch him in the face when he turns around...

Titus has had issues since he was recruited. I wish I could remeber the article on him after the Lions drafted him. It praised Young's parents and how he was overcoming "minor" issues and he was on his way as if he had conquered his maturity problems.

Fast forward and it is obvious Titus never got past his maturity issues. He is the poster child of entitlement generation. He has never accomplished anything but feels he should be treated like Calvin Johnson. Why?

Titus wants to know why he isn't a #1 option on a team with CJ is the biggest indictment of his thought process I can think of. It's a shame this organization took a chace on him. When Detroit needs to hit homeruns with it's second rounders they got a entitled Diva and a whole lot of what ifs!
