It's official... Canty and Bradshaw are history. Not too surprised by this move, but I'm waiting to see what happens with Tuck, Diehl, and Webster. 2 of the 3 may be history. Tuck will be the safest bet.
I am going to miss Bradshaw but this was the smart move. Canty was a nobrainer and should have never have been signed, Diehl and Webster are next and I think Justin Tuck and Snee will restructure.
I guess John Mara is keeping his word about change. This is a good thing. Bradshaw going is good. They wanted to improve the running game, and now they can with David Wilson. It's his time now. Waiting 5 or six years to start a RB the way Coughlin waits with most players is not a good plan. Former 1st round pick - now it's time to see what he's got. Chris Canty was useless.
Too bad for Bradshaw but he had a good run. In reading the article is sounds like he wants to resign later. I guess we'll see. Either way, I will never forget him running the letter off his lid in that Buffalo game.
Whatever on Chris Canty. I had high hopes for him when he signed but he's been a non factor his entire career with the Giants
Though I will miss Bradshaw's fire/heart, we are getting what we asked for, fellas. New blood, with fresh young legs to make a push next season. Thomas, Webster, Diehl, OSI, Tuck, and Phillips are next. If there is a possibility to trade Tuck or Osi, for the love of God do it. Get Revis at a lower price since injury, and address LB/O-Line in the first 4 rounds of the draft.
Osi is a free agent... They can't trade him.. These moves aren't surprising at all.. Diehl and Webster have to be next if they don't restructure.. This is what we asked for.. It's Wilson's time now
Giants have saved over 13 mill with these cuts... Thomas and osi will be coming off the books, that's another 4 mill plus whatever happens with Diehl and Webster.. Giants might have some money to make some moves
The Giants will 100% draft a running back in the later rounds of the draft, they will not go into the season with just Wilson and an unproven Scott who looks like a good special teams player and a guy that has been injured his whole life like Andre Brown. Maybe they get someone via free agency but that's not Reese's style, he drafts best player regardless of position.
HOBO, that game against Buffalo was a "must win" and they came out flat. When the "n" fell off during that long run, I thought that I was seeing things. Bshaw was one of my favorites, along with BJacobs and now their both gone. My biggest question mark for this team is, Who's going to be the heart and soul of this team? As of right now, I don't see one leader on the roster, unless you count Rolle, but he leads with his mouth more than anything. At least Kiwi should return to DE, Ojomo and Tracy should see more playing time, Paysinger, Rivers, Herzlich, and Williams will have to step it up, Hosley, Brown, Prince and Sash will have big shoes to fill. Change is good, fellas... I'm still waiting for the next LT to be drafted.
I'm good with it, but if they don't cut Diehl I will lose my damn mind. Cut that worthless sack 5 minutes ago. I could pass block as well as that guy and I'll do it for the veterans minimum.
They need to release Rolle, Diehls contract isn't as bad as his and he can restructure as well... and if we bring in a young guy as bad as Diehl is, he was good and he moved around the whole line so he would be a good veteran to keep on the cheap to teach a young guy. As for if he doesn't restructure, then see ya! Ciao! Cut him... Same with Webster, he has to restructure, as much as I support the guy, making near 7 million and not being a legit shut down guy, I don't care about the scheme we run, is way to much for him... hopefully he bounces back which I think he can.
