NinerguyI was taking into account the dink and dunk rep and limited rep for big plays. That's gonna factor into the negotiating.
Now I am by no means an expert on this kind'a stuff, But a 2 and a 3? Sounds kinda cheap. Smith (love him or hate him) got them to the playoffs last year. (this year? mabey?) To the right team I think a first round plus something else
Smith (love him or hate him) got them to the playoffs last year. (this year? mabey?) To the right team I think a first round plus something elseI would argue their exceptional defense and running game got them into the playoffs last year. Smith just managed the offense.
i wouldnt give up more than 4th rounder for him...
sorry i just dont trust him outside of Harbaugh's system... Harbaugh built that offense specifically for Smith... and he still couldnt wait to bench him this season. granted Kaepernick is a bonafied stud....but still
and most of the teams that need QBs.... Jags, Jets, Chiefs, Raiders.... are terrible football teams.... and he is not good enough to win for them.
The Browns and Vikings are by far the best landing spots for Alex Smith.... they have the team around him that might actually make it worth while to fork over a 3rd round pick....Not saying I would be disappointed if the Vikings traded a third for Alex Smith, but our GM is giving Ponder another year, and he loves draft picks. He isn't going to trade away a third for a QB close to 30.
