The Official Mock Kansas Thread

I won't mock KU. They are always tough and I have a tremendous amount of respect for them. This is coming from a UNC fan.

Ok, the final score could have been MUCH worse. You have to understand the abuse we took as Florida was pasting Mizzou....all relevant. 

I work early in the morning, so did not watch the game as I expected a blow out.  I hear the results on the radio and nearly ran off the highway.  Until now I had never even heard of such terrible play.

One thing is for sure.. this team MUST go to Norman and absolutely crush the Sooners.  Anything less than that will just fan the flames.

It's all good, Nut. The original premise of the thread is a good one. After that "performance", KU deserves all the mocking it gets from all comers. The UF/MU game pales in comparison to that giant mound of suck. Relevant, to be sure.

Jeff Borzello has an article on this very site that calls the loss arguably the worst loss by anyone this season.

At first I thought that was harsh.  After letting it sink in, he's right.  Then you need to consider that Kansas' last game was a loss at home to an Oklahoma State team that scored 85 points on the Kansas defense.

Yikes.

I said a week ago that I thought Kansas was a top 5 team.  Now I wouldn't put them in the top 15.

I just dug up an interesting quote from a Jayhawk fan after TCU beat them at Kansas in football:

"well at least we'll kick yer butt on the hardwood..."  

Ummm...not so much.

Saw some "highlights" of Self's postgame presser and he pretty much redefined the expression, "tearing someone a new one".  He called this performance the worst performance in the history of KU bball.  He also said if he could he'd throw 3 guys out there if not for the stipulation that you need 5.  He also has no idea who to start....which is an indication that it's not just one player but the entire team that is sucking it hard right now.

Not looking good as a 1 seed. 2 either

After those three losses, Kansas doesn't even deserve to be ranked.

I mock no one. When in a tie game, with the ball, against their arguably most hated opponent, Indiana turns the ball over and then lets the opponent shoot an uncontested layup on an inbounds play with 0.9 seconds left, that's unacceptable. I live & work in Illinois, 30 miles East of Champaign and I'll have to put up with that game for at least a year no matter what else happens the rest of this season.

I think we may need a refuge thread for Indiana fans by the end of this month with the schedule they have ahead. Gloom & doom unless they  suck it up right now.

But, it does sound like Bill Self is about to go all Bob Knight on us. Maybe he's a better coach than I gave him credit for.

Kansas is to the Big 12 as Michigan is to the B1G. Fans with a sense of entitlement. Overhyped. Mentally weak. Shrinks from physicality. I don't see either team advancing beyond the first weekend!

Izz, I hope ur correct on that one...just so I can have some fun with my Michigan buddies. That would be stellar!!!

We'll see. Lots of basketball yet to play... People said the same thing last year.

A loss tonight against the Wildcats would take the Jayhawks down to the cellar of the top-25 rankings, a bad loss would actually make them unranked - quite a remarkable feat in such a short time for a team so recently ranked #1!

Well, KU technically hasn't been ranked #1 at all this year (#2 a few weeks ago) but I agree that it would be a harsh dose of reality for the players. I understand how the rankings process works, so I am not terribly concerned with where they are in the rankings at all right now. Ku needs to get back to playing good basketball regardless of their current rank.
