You just have to be from Florida to understand it. FSU was a girls school until the 60s, and Miami was terrible for years and has terrible support from the alumns ... no reason anyone not from Miami would pull for them. None of the others have any historical cache that would make you want to pull for them. USF and UCF are huge, but are mostly commuter schools that have come into their own in the last two decades as a results of the massive growth of Florida. Neither has an on-site stadium or rabid fan support. FIU, FAU, etc, ... from someone who grew up in West Palm in the laste 50s, 60s and 70s, it's hard to believe they even have football programs.I wanna know why these loosers in Florida pick the Univ of Florida as their schoool they folllow when there are 8 other FBS schools in the state. Im waiting....bandwagon'ers, LOL.

But, when I have high school friends that went to every SEC school, Vandy friends that went to SEC grad schools they now pull for, have extended family that went to pretty much every SEC school, and now have friends from living in Ga and NC that went to these schools, I am just not going to waste energy hating them. When I was at Vandy we road tripped to almost every campus at some point for away games ... stayed with our frat brothers on those campuses. They are our SEC brothers. I am going to "hate" them? Now, you can be sure that I am going to talk trash to them when we play them, bark at them, lift my hind leg to them as any good Dawg would do. But, when they offer me a cold one after I've done so, I'm going knock it back with them and then bark at them as I leave their tailgate.
At the end of the day, it is more of a bortherhood or extended family, not the hate that I hear you B1G folks talk about. By the way, if you want to hate, hate away ... I respect that even though I don't agree with it. Too bad you don't return the favor.

You would have to be on the moronic level that you are on to think that. What we cheer is that another team in our conference won it, extending the conference streak, and that win will inure to our benefit - players, coaches, TV contracts, etc. We can also feel good for our good friends that went to Bama or are Bama fans and are enjoying life. What part of that don't you get?
