Bleacher Report calls Myers and Wheeler bargains

According to Bleacher Report Chris Ivory, Donnie Avery, Jared Cook, Gosder Cherlius, Michael Bennett and Keenan Lewis are all bargain players Hitting Free Agency who could help a team and not cost a lot of money. They also listed Matt Moore but I don't see him landing on Oakland's radar so he is a non-factor. Oakland was the only team who had 2 players on the list with Myers and Wheeler and I think that now that they have given up on the ZBS experiment Myers goes back to the high priority list. Wheeler should be there also. Cook could become an option if Oakland in unable to sign Myers to a deal. Cherlius is considered a high value target at right tackle and with all the problems the Raiders have had at that position should be on their wish list. He won't come super cheap but you can't build a winning team with a bunch of league minimum players. Chris Ivory would be a nice compliment to DMAC if McFadden is even kept around. Lewis is a big corner who is solid in the pass and the run game and Bennett is a decent D lineman. It would be great if Oakland can keep Myers and Wheeler and are able to at least bring in a couple of these guys because the Raiders have needs at almost every position with not a lot of money to spend.

Chris Ivory is a RFA that almost certainly will be matched any offer, but if not they get compensation for him instantly and the Raiders being down picks already wont get into that mess.

Does the bleacher report say anything about Ahmad Bradshaw. I'm curious to see where he lands. With Dmac we need a plan B.

Ivory is their fourth option behind Sproles, Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram so I don't know how much of a priority he is going to be for them. I'm thinking they aren't going to want to spend a ton of money on a fourth string RB.

Ivory is still restricted and Payton loves him. Ingram hasnt been what they expected and Sproles is a safety valve for Brees. Im sure they are hoping somebody offers a big contract for Ivory so they get that pick this year to replace the one they lost in bountygate. Even though I think Thomas is the most valuable running back they have, I think they may look to trade him due to his age and his money factored in with his production.

Bradshaw was just released yesterday and he is recovering from multiple breaks in his foot so he has a lot of work to do to prove he will be ready for the season. I don't think The Giants expected David Wilson to be so productive as early as he has which made releasing Bradshaw a no brainer. Players are getting released at a fast and furious pace and as always the teams with money to spend will overpay for the blue chippers but I don't see any team jumping out the window to sign Bradshaw right now because he probably considers himself to be more valuable than he really is. Reality is probably going to have to set in before he finally comes to his senses on what his real worth is.

Thomas just turned 28 which may or may not be considered old. Ingram and Sproles are going nowhere and Thomas may be the odd man out because NO just seems to have a bunch of RB's they don't even use. Nobody is going to give up a pick or pay a bunch of money for Ivory when he can't stay healthy and is only playing 6 games a year. I don't know what they are paying Thomas but if they can cut him he will probably be the one out. Thomas wouldn't be a bad option for Oakland either unless the Saints just want to hoard RB's.

Ivory being younger and showing flashes being burried on a depth chart to me just seems cost effective for the Saints who have their backs up against the wall with the salary cap of course if you want to believe that stuff. IDK how the RFA tag changed from the new CBA, I think the only change was from 4 years to 3 years which applies to Ivory. But the compensation rate is to be determined for that player, like when Michael Bush was an RFA they placed the 1st and 3rd RFA tag on him which was a 3.25 M dollar tag. IDK if New Orleans would go that high, but Ivory has been well thought of in circles such much like when Michael Turner bolted for Atlanta after being burried on a depth chart in San Diego.

I always try to look at every angle. According to multiple sites and what have you the Raiders have the least amount of talent and depth in the league. Plus they have some salary cap issues and have trouble attracting free agents which goes hand and hand to the salary cap issues. But none the less if the powers to be believe in building through the draft not every team is gonna be willing to fork over draft picks simply by trading down. If the Raiders do what they have never done and trade down in the first round they may do it mulitple times and depending on who is still around, I wouldn't be the least bit suprised to see New Orleans try and trade up into the top twelve or top ten if Star falls since they are moving to a 34 and need a NT. They dont have a 2nd rd pick due to Bounty Gate but Thomas may be something they can dangle along with their first round pick to a team like the Raiders. We dont know if the Raiders are gonna shop Darren McFadden but if they do, a guy like Thomas or MJD could be something that they would be interested in on the trade front.

We already have that plan B.  His name is Marcel Reece.  As for Bradshaw, he's just as injury prone as McFadden, so he's not really much of a plan B.  As for other, likely higher priced FA's, I just don't see the team taking on salaries they can't afford right now.  Wishful thinking, at best.

There will be a RB available that Oakland can afford once Free agency sorts itself out but they are going to need a one two punch at that position and have needed it ever since DMAC was drafted. I'm more concerned about the RT and DB positions and those are the areas where the bulk of the Free agency money should be spent or we can look forward to having the third pick in the draft again in 2014.

I think you can write it down in pen now-throw away your pencil.  "With the THIRD pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select _______ _________."

I think they are preparing the fans for the horrors that await the faithful this year. They didn't come right out and say it but When I read they were putting a tarp over ten thousand seats it spoke loudly and clearly to me.
