based on my experiences here over a 5 year period, i find it very difficult to believe that this programming staff can solve anything. they redefine inept.

All I know is it would be sometime this year. Hopefully the sooner the better.

I think it is time to admit removing the reputation system was a complete failure. Not giving limits based on new users by allowing them to make threads is a nice thought but it openned the door to the spammers to the point where the boards are unreadable. This is probably bots which is why they are so relentless.

ya know, I'm tired of being patient.  And all yall do when changing stuff is amke it worse.  Restrict number of friends.  Get rid of the rep system.  No more live links (even though the bots figured out how to bypass that bit of idiocy).  How about some real answers for once?  Like, what is gonna be different about the new iteration?  Let me guess, you cant go into details on that or dont know.

I don't have access to that info, but it's almost assuredly bots. Unfortunately there's no way for us to permanently ban a bot from constantly creating new IDs to spam with, so the moderation staff is going to have to continue to just try and catch the spam threads as quickly as possible.

Simple, 30 day moratorium on posting active links.

The 'when the new iteration comes out' has been the default answer to problems since 2008.  It's past time to call BS on it.

They entire first page is covered and half of the second.
Have fun cleaning that up, but I guess that is what happens when you idiotically remove the limit on posting threads.
The other big bug is that we have to wait 90 seconds to post, yet that limit doesn't apply to making threads so they can just do it at will with no restrictions.
