How will they respond?

February 9, 2013 10:17 am

Hate seeing the board dry up with one loss.  This is the beauty of the end-of-year tournament, right?  We can drop a game and still have a good chance.

Losing Yeguete hurts.  Hopefully he can come back in time to contribute in the tourney.  Until then, it's up to Prather to step in– I'm happy he's back on the court and hoping that he knock the rust off and return to what we saw at the end of last year (see below).  So far though he's struggled.

The Kentucky dunk last year on Wiltjer:

The alley-oop against Marquette in last year's tourney:

Need to bounce back and take care of business today.  Go Gators!

They always fall apart this time of year. Nothing new.

Is that why the have won two National Championships. They are 19-3 - not exactly a bad record.

Well, a nice solid game yesterday.  Should have a tough test against Kentucky on Tuesday…they're on the rise and hopefully we can put a stop to that :)

Is Murphy's ankle ok?  Hate to see the Gators lose yet another critical starter to injury.....Gators will need his red-hot 3-point shot to beat Kentucky at Kentucky.....  Prather was impressive in the bounce-back win against MSU.

Go Gators!!

They have a hard time staying healthy this year. Murphy has had an especially hard time staying healthy.

How will they respond?
I can answer that question.  Choke in the face of adversity.

They certainly aren't playing confident.  We'll get at least Frazier back on Saturday, which will help with our outside shooting, and once Yeguete returns our defense will improve greatly.  Hopefully we can get a couple solid games in with the full roster, build that confidence back up in the SEC tourney, take our 3 seed or whatever, and be posed for a good tournament.  Ever the optimist!  Go Gators!

With fans like you, who needs enemies. You have a team with very little depth, getting hurt by injuries. Lets see how they do once they get back to full strength.

How did they win two national championships, if the Gators always choke?

Looks like our Gators responded very well!!  By beating Bama and with UK's loss - the Gators have locked up a #1 seed in the SEC Tourney and a first-round bye.  Would be nice to close out with 2 wins against Vandy and UK and head into the SEC Tourney with some momentum..... hope they can stay healthy the rest of the stretch.....

Go Gators!

That is the key. They have very little depth so injuries (pardon the pun) really hurt.

I just want to know what happened to that smothering defense we had through the first half of the season.  That is what I miss most :(
