JVR the Leafs superstar?

And I'm not defending all the goalies, but at least the Flyers have tried the goalie thing in every which way possible to address it.  Draft, trade, low risk free agent, high risk free agent, low cost free agent, high cost free agent, waivers....it hasn't been pretty, I'll admit.  Most of the time though, they do get some good use out of the guys they get.  And as someone has said, Bryz has been the best Flyer this year and has played excellent and consistent, even behind a leaky defensive play (not just by the blue line, but by all of them).

The Flyers totally got better because of Pronger, not even a question Mr Famous. Look at their goaltending that season, Emery, Leighton, Boucher, none of which were prime time goaltenders. The defense was incredible that year and it helped take them to the Cup.

Unlike the Capitals who sit around and do nothing until they are a cellar dwellar again, Paul Holmgren has tried to make this team better each and every year. Sometimes it doesn't look as good and other times it looks great. Can't blame the guy for trying.

They've certainly been the best team in Toronto since 1994!

It is hilarious to hear Flyer fans defend Holmgren----Congratulations I am sure you will once again achieve mediocrity this season. As JVR becomes a top 5 goal scorer in the league and Carter and Richards made the Kings the best team in the NHL. You all can continue to kid yourself how good Simmonds and Schenn and Voracek are. After all your mission is to make the playoffs and hopefully win one round and all is well in Flyer land.

Except that only one fan defended him directly, and it was a Blackhawks fan.  Way to go with that assessment.

As JVR becomes a top 5 goal scorer in the league and Carter and Richards made the Kings the best team in the NHL.
That's funny because they might have been good role players, but they certainly weren't the primary or even secondary reasons why the Kings made a great post season run.  Way to go with that assessment.

You all can continue to kid yourself how good Simmonds and Schenn and Voracek are.
Voracek has been consistently a 50 point scorer since he came into the league, which was exactly 5 picks after JVR.

After all your mission is to make the playoffs and hopefully win one round and all is well in Flyer land.
Actually the goal is to always have a good team and to win the Stanley Cup.  No one wants to lose for years on end and be given all the keys to the Stanley Cup by getting numerous high picks in the draft in some of the most loaded drafts in history.

You want to knock the Flyers, go right ahead.  They've been a good team for all but 6 years of my life.  I would love to for them to win the Cup and love that they're trying everything to do so.  Sometimes though you just run into a more loaded and/or dynastic team.

At least they're still better than the Penguins.
