they could find some backup with legs to run this crap ass offense.

not much of that out there and available.  they are in rebuilding mode.  its going to take keeping guys like vick in the short term to figure it out.

how old is Bourne?

when are teasm going to realize you can't give double digits of millions per year to guys based on speed.

Agreed, Bourne is 31 and looking for 5 years, the Mets wont go beyond 3, from what ive read...For some teams, he is worth the risk, the Mets are one of those teams, they need a sparkplug at the top of that lineup in the worst way, more than most teams

I think a lot of teams really overthought the whole Bourne thing.   He's a darn good player and its beyond me how he hasnt signed on yet.

Even a 5 year would be ok if you front loaded it.

numbers say the guy in that situation is actually Melo believe it or not, since 2003 no one hits buzzer beaters to tie or win a game at a higher clip or more often

and Lebron actually ranks higher than his rep too
well not really a fair comparison since Durant has only been in a the league since 2006, and plays in a lot fewer tight games than Melo does

But he has something like what? 4 or 5 buzzer beaters since the start of last season? Including at least 1 in the playoffs and that frantic final minute in game 2 of the finals

There is no one even remotely as clutch as him right now. Maybe Carmelo was 4 years ago. But he isn't close right now

As for LeBron's "rep", i don't know how much it compares to reality, but certainly people don't view him as a clutch player. And it was something like 230 games into his career before he had his first buzzer beater (i remember reading that because Kyrie Irving had his first buzzer beater for the Cavs something like 30 games into his career)

Speaking of buzzer beaters, that Wisconsin/Michigan game was awesome...

The 5 OT ND/Louisville game was a fun watch too...I thought Dickie V was going to pass out from being up so late at night...

hear you. but you're going to have to deal with this for a year or two.  its the way it works.  last thing the eagles are going to do is just sign people.  they've been doing that for awhile now and its not working.  take it slow.  find the right guys.  like the Giants do.

Agreed, its an overblown concept......Lebron dominance in last years postseason was the reason he wasnt required to make any buzzer beaters......He did everything, i mean EVERYTHING for that Cavs team, but was beat up because he couldnt bury the very last shot.....I have no problem with the Durant evaluation, he is incredible
Same deal with Peyton

He perenially put up great records in the regular season with an abomination of a roster, then merely looked "human" in the playoffs, and his team got exposed because of how horrific the rest of them were.

So even though their playoff numbers aren't really all that different, and most people can't come up with a single clutch throw he's made in 8 years, Tom Brady is perceived as some deity of clutchness, and Peyton Manning is epic choker. Happens in all sports. Kobe was viewed as Mr. Clutch before Durant took that mantle even though his shooting percentage with the game on the line was anemic

This game was insane

And glad Dickie V brought up the terrible possession arrow rule, even if he did mention it every 4 minutes
