Do you understand what credit lines are used for?
With no credit, even companies with enormous positivie balance sheets would likely be screwed because their suppliers and customers DON'T have that. Credit lines allow for buisiness to occur at its current pace. If cash only transactions were required the global economy would crash & there would likely be 25% Employment, if that.
So long as we're willing to live with the lowered standard of living associated with more expensive consumer products, agreed.Absolutely, but can anyone really say that their standard of living is lower if they have 2 big screen TV's instead of 3?
the root cause is necessity driven by cheaper competition with unfettered access to US marketsTrue, so lets close some of that access to our markets.
We love us our Wal-mart and wouldn't pay a penny more to support our neighborsTo a large extent this is also true, but so many use Wal-Mart because there aren't any more decent paying jobs left that people have to pinch pennies. Wall-Mart perpetuates itself.
These jobs may no be in America, but someone somewhere will get employed because of this. It is common senseDude, who cares if cutting taxes creates jobs in other countries? The jist of the argument is that cutting taxes does not creats jobs in the USA and that's a fact. Who cares if it creates a job for someone, somewhere else in another country?
Middle class is dead. Replaced by people who are willing to work for less in other countriesThats ridiculous. It doesn't have to be. How can anything good come from eliminating the middle class? America First! Bleep people in other countries willing to work for less.
Doesn't explain record profits. Corporations sitting on mountains of cash and making profits hand over fist. All while the Holy middle class is in peril. They're making their record profits on the backs of the middle class. Cutting, cutting, cutting. They are not expanding or growing or innovating in any meaningful way. They are simply cutting their way to higher margins.
And if you can't get by on $50k a year then you are completely retarded and there is no hope for you anyhow. Might as well vote democrat. This is an ignorant statement. 50k per year might be a decent wage in middle America, but it's nothing on the coasts; especially California and the Northeast corridor.
I guarantee you that if all of a sudden the credit line was cut off, both private and public, that there would be a severe hit to both corporate profits and the stock market. You mean if things got real fair, real quick, people wouldn't like the new reality?

Really just the cutting taxes and protective tariff would do it.Hell, just tariffs would create some jobs.
Yup, $50K, seriously? For a family? In the northern VA, DC, Maryland area, that won't get you very much. And if you can't get by on $50k a year then you are completely retarded and there is no hope for you anyhow. Yep, I really love it when trustfund babies give that speech.
pull yourself up by your bootstraps"
no wonder a growing majority of the country is shunning the "Horatio Alger, pull yourself up by your bootstraps" nonsense, while the rich get fatter.I recently read someone else's prediction that I find quite plausible. More & more jobs will be lost to IT improvements & robotics. More & More capital will be concentrated into fewer & fewer hands.
More & more jobs will be lost to IT improvementsSpeaking from experience here: IT improvements tend to inpact other departments more. Software engineers and programmers have a knack for finding ways to cut costs and faster ways, that take fewer people to do the same job in other departments while suspiciously never able to find ways to do their own jobs with fewer programmers. That said, as i posted earlier, many of their jobs are now being outsourced to India. Why pay sombody 100k a year to do a job that somebody in India can do for 30k per year remotely.

Thank you, thank you for the "opportunity"! hahahaha!! What a joke, no wonder a growing majority of the country is shunning the "Horatio Alger, pull yourself up by your bootstraps" nonsense, while the rich get fatter. If you don't pull yourself up, who's going to do it?
They only know Me and Mine; as in "I got mine, to hell with everyone else".What's worse the man who get's his, on his own and says that, or the man who doesn't and say's I want yours?
When he didn't have to try at all!An asserition, which can not possibly know to be true.
