I agree with this decision. Patt Shurmer, the Eagles' new offensive coordinator wants to give Bryce Brown, a "bigger alternative" to LeSean McCoy, even though Brown isn't that much bigger than McCoy in the height and weight department.

It seems like when Bryce Brown is able to get 19 or more carries per game (which was only twice last season) he can be an unstoppable force on the football field. In those two games, Bryce had 19 attempts for 178 yards and 2 TD's; and 24 attempts for 164 yards and 2 TD's. I think McCoy and Brown in the backfield could do very well for this Eagles offense.

With that said, this would mean both McCoy and Brown would have to get 20 touches a game, which would mean 40 offensive running plays every single game. I'm not sure how well that would work out.

It won't, considering Mike Vick says he can run for 1000 yards in Chip Kelly's offense. That means he's going to have to carry the ball a good 10 times a game. Eagles aren't running the rock 50 times a game.

Touches don't mean just carries. I'd guess that they are going to be involved in the pass game as well.

I'd be more than happy to call Mike Vick out on that bluff. He isn't rushing for 1,000 yards this year. He can't even complete a whole season without getting injured and missing games. Vick should only be running if he has to scramble. Outside of that, the running backs should be the only ones getting carries. 

They need to run the ball more.  How can they run it much less?  Also, we don't have a top-tier QB on the roster, so I think running the ball more (read: more AND more effectively) would absolutely be a better decision for the entire team.  I'm all for it.

If I have McCoy on my team, he's in the game on first and second down, spelled on a few drives... I don't see the third down back getting 20 carries a game... It would require a lot of running plays on 3rd and 8... As good as McCoy is, I would be giving him the ball..

at this point, if Vick gets injured ... I honestly think Dixion who knows the offense might be a better option at QB so it's straight plug and play. 

I wouldn't be surprised if DeShaun Jackson gets into the mix in terms of the running game as well ... what's the over under on passes thrown by a Eagle QB per game +/- 30? lol

Wrong, 3 running backs and no quarterback.

I agree Eagle_Phanatic. Reid didn't utilize the running game as well as he was supposed to last year. In Reid's mind, the passing game was the only part of the offense that was important to him it seemed like. I just didn't think the guy had common sense.
