I'm here to eat crow.  MSU dominated UM in every aspect last night.  They not only were the better team, they were the much better team.  Until UM shows they can play quality basketball on the road against top level competition, they aren't going anywhere.

Props to MSU -- I made the statement that MSU was the #1 basketball school in the state, but not the best basketball team in the state this year, but they proved me wrong.  UM has a long way to go.  Congrats.

I tried to tell ya mike. I usually agree with alot you have to say, but when you started comparing teams by who they played and how much they beat teams by i couldnt agree with u on that one.....i told you once UM hit the road against tough teams, they would struggle. Also i said ncst was overated. Now beating iowa by 3 in iowa all of a sudden doesnt matter so much. UM is still a good team, but one dimensional....come tourney if theyre not on fire hitting 3's, they will get pushed around and an early exit.....glad you ate crow tho....in ann arbor i see a mad UM team winning.....but they definitely wont take us out back to the woodshed....but being at home, i see their 3's falling......also i sure hope UM fans will stop acting like McGoofy is the man.....hes soft as charmin.....see his nickname is "the monster".....i can see why....he looked just like frankenstein out there.....of course dougie has nothing to say.....his team had no heart.

As I have said many times on this board.  I have no problem admitting when I am wrong.  MSU was a much more complete team.  UM looks shell shocked last night.  It is the 1st time this year, I actually turned off a game.

MSU is going to be a tough out for anyone if they play like they did last night.

Thats the trick.....playing like that again....very rarely do sparty fans witness a whole 40 mins of great sparty ball.......this team is the usual izzo team.....can beat any team in the country, but yet could lose to any team in the country....when they come focused to play and dont turn it over, they are a final 4 contender. Im hoping this game doesnt go to their heads....we are usually better when we are overlooked.

Cleaves, I agree with everything you said except I would change one thing

"when they come focused to play and dont turn it over, they are a final 4 National Championship contender"  Cool

Yeah johnny my fault.....if they play like they did tuesday, NOBODY can beat them.....the scary thing is appling and payne can play better than they did, and we were missing trice....gary harris is starting to look like sean respert reborn. Smooth stroke, snapping them nets.

I see it that they had so much FUN on Tuesday that they will just keep doing the same stuff over and over and by same stuff I mean winning decisively. No nailbiters from here on.

And just when you say that . . . we go to Nebraska and play way down to the competition again.  I hope it's because they were already mentally gearing up for tomorrow night's Breslin Center match-up with the Hoosiers.

Letter to the Izzone mebers for IU game

February 19, 2013 9:34 am

Tuesday's game against the number one ranked team in the country
will be another test of what we are made of. This may be the biggest
two game stretch this campus has ever seen, and so far the Izzone has
retained full control. The section won rave reviews by all observers,
even the enemy, in last Tuesday's game against Michigan. TREY BURKE
in his post game interview said it was the toughest atmosphere he has
ever played in. JAY WILLIAMS, a Duke alum and former player, said that
Michigan State has the best home court advantage in college
basketball. These compliments don't come easy, these wins don't
come easy, and that is exactly how we like it.

This game against Indiana is our final game as a full unit. There are
many seniors in the section who will go out with a win they will never
forget. In order to make this happen the section must prepare to /turn
up/ and bring noise BEYOND levels anyone has ever heard at a
basketball game before. In the end there is no secret: this game could
very well decide who wins the B1G and possibly who wins a no. 1 seed
in the NCAA tournament. We MUST create the same atmosphere tomorrow
night. There were several reports stating that during timeouts the
arena was so loud that UM players could not communicate in their
huddles. DAN DAKICH, whom called the game, said "there is no team
that could've beat MSU in that atmosphere." Grantland.com writer
Shane Ryan whom had attended the OSU vs. UM game this year among other
major B1G games said, "The noise reached such DEAFENINGlevels ?
the Izzone put the Ohio State kids to shame, if you want a comparison
? that it felt like the players in maize and blue might actually be
in physical danger."
* We will be using #turnup on Twitter. Best tweets @ThisistheIZZONE
using #turnup will receive a retweet ? social media participation
has been extraordinary and is part of what makes the Izzone the best
section in the land.
* Wear your Izzone shirt! This game is a white out

Some of us Spartan alums started a fund to buy pizza and Energy Drinks for the Izzone tonight.  Got almost $500 so far, I hope that can get them fueled up for a loud night.....
