You have another Cam Newton coming in or something? Dominating? We were severly handicapped with scholarship limitations so don't stick that chest out to far. Everyone was beating us those years so what an accomplisment. They don't take 30 something scholarshios from 1995 to 2000 ta make a team better. Guess what? We've seen the true Grand Canyon gap that exists between the two programs on an even playing ground.

Here's a fact that puts the wide gap that will always exist between Bama and Auburn in perspective. Show me one year Auburn beat Alabama by more than 10 points since 1970? One year? 10 points? Yes, Auburn never beat Bama by more then 10 points in 42 years! Hell, just in the last 5 years we've won with scores like  49-0, 42-14, 36-0

You are having a good run but nothing last forever keep thinking your the shat and you will end up covered in it.

I certainly realize good things don't last forever but you have to admit never beating Bama b ymore than 10 points in over 42 years is probably a little of an eye opener. You would think they would accidently win by more then 10 at least once? Wink

That was more my point!

The fact that we haven't run up the score on occasions is a show of class IMO.  Now I will freely admit in last years game Saban tried to throttle back but we were too inept and the sidelines were in chaos so no fault there.  But on two other occasions he has throw deep late in the game and eventually that will come back to haunt him...it will take time but it will happen.

Are you now really trying to compare Austin freaking Texas to some cowtown called Opelika, Alabama in the middle of nowhere West Georgia???

Cosmopolitan Beautiful Austin Texas is considered one of the coolest and hippest cities in the WORLD not just the USA.

European travellers put Austin on their list of places to visit in the USA.  I am not sure sure Opelika, AL made the cut.

Its attracts rock gods and hollywood stars to the funky famous scene just to hang out.

Heck, it never finished below #3 in both the Playboy hottest coeds and best party school scene for 25 straight years.

You can bash the Horn football.

BUt Austin, Texas is pretty much revered around the globe as one of the epicenters of cool.

That is why Texas will never truly suck at recruiting....

The town itself will get Texas a top 30-40 class without even picking up the phone.

.............

And yes, it can never truly live up to the hype.  So much praise is written about Austin that it cannot possibly live up to its reputation.

But it comes pretty close to the hype.

Yeah because On everybodys list of cities to visit, Austin fits in somewhere between Sydney, Austrailia and Paris, France.

I've been to Boulder, Tx and Austin, Co

Boulder, Madison, Berkeley, and Austin are considered the BIG FOUR cities of liberal young creativity and thinking.

Austin and Madison are a little more conservative, but they all have that offbeat funkiness in common.

Eugene, Oregon also might be one to watch eventually as well.

They call themselves the "Boulder" of Oregon.

They are too small, but they have a very similar youthful vibe.

Yes Horns we all know you are also proud that Austin is considered the San Francisco of Texas and has a high tolerance for gay rights and alternative life styles.  You are a wonderful advocate for Austin, a proud citizen and we can all assume that you and your friends are gay, voted for Obama, only watch alternative films, go to poetry readings and support starving artist which is all noble.

Now will you finally tell me which home game you would choose to bring the Big Gun recruits in Austin this year (assuming you could only pick one)?

This is a sad commentary on SEC fans. If this is what you thinkof Austin. I can only wonder if it is an inner struggle on your on sexuality you are dealing with or simple stupidity.. I am not sure which it is, but it is defintely one of those.

Yeah because On everybodys list of cities to visit Austin

There is a website called Orbitz.com
It is only the largest online travel agency in the world.

Here is their annual list of the Travel Hotspot Destinations of 2012:

LONDON, CHICAGO, AUSTIN

That is their annual list for Travel Hotspots.
That is it.  Those are the 3 cities they picked for 2012.

The largest online travel agency picked Austin as one of the three hottest destinations of 2012.
It is only a company with nearly 2000 employees and Billion dollar enterprise who monitor travel demands as part of their core business.

Apparently  visiting Austin is on somebody's list after all.....the market leaders in the travel industry's list that is.

Since the biggest debate here seems to be whether or not Texas playing Ole Miss is going to get better ratings than other, non-OU, games...the answer is clearly no.

Outside of the southeastern United States, who cares about Ole Miss?  Honestly, every conference your team isn't in has those teams you forget exist for me they were (this is while WVU was in the BE as that was just about a year ago):

ACC: NCSt
Wee 10: Minnesota
Big 12: TTU, Iowa State, Missouri, and Baylor
Pac: Wash St (and now Utah too)
SEC: Ole Miss

well of course auburn will beat bama again sometime.....Thats not that hard to predict sense nobody can win them all....Most auburn victories are very close wins while bama has been known to take the tigers to the woodshed....You can call it class on auburns part to not run up the score. I call it lack of ability to run up the score.

Sometimes the girls in Austin will wear a scarf to cover up their Adam's apples. If the neck is covered I'd recommend employing the ole "Crocodile Dundee" technique, just to be safe.

It's a shame some people think there aren't great small towns/cities, that aren't going to get the attention of a cosmopolitan, that are great places to live and raise a family. They actually have lists like the best places to live, the best places to live, the friendliest places to live, etc. That's where small town USA ends up. Not on most wanted place to visit city by a Euro pee on!  Wink  But you should still be proud!
