Some Random Off-season Thoughts...

Gives you options at number 20, trade down or just take best available

Exactly. If you pick up a quality LT in FA, you can immediately focus on finding our future MLB. Alec Ogletree has a very good chance of being there when we pick at 20.

I dont know why we are even talking about Harvin. We will NOT get him. Why would the Vikings trade to us if there were people offering similar deals? The only reason would be if we were offering the very best deal, in which case It'd have to be way too much because I have to think SOMEBODY out there would offer a 2nd round pick, or at least a 3rd. The Bears dont have the resources to give up a top 3 pick for another wideout, a pricey veteran wideout at least.

Getting a top notch starting left tackle should be no question the Bears first priority. IF they  get one in free agency, then I could certainly go for a plug in linebacker in the first round. A lot of experts like Ogletree. I would actually prefer Te'o who to me is the more solid choice. Maybe I'm wrong but Te'o doesn't miss tackles and I think has better instinct. He is good in pass protection also.I think the fake girlfriend stuff could land the Bears a big time premiere LB which I do not think Ogletree will be. I may be wrong.

If they get a starting left tackle and a starting linebacker, then I would hope like heck that they can land Kyle Long for another starting line position. I think that Long can play tackle or guard. With Carmini in the mix they can try Long and Carmini at both right guard and right tackle and find out where each slots out.

4th round I go for tight end with the kid from Cincy my pick. 6'6" and 260#

5th round I go for Garza's replacement at center in a couple of years.

6th round I vote for the Honey Badger.  Somehow I see this guy as a huge reward low risk player. He might very well be the best over-all athlete in the entire draft. What if they use him as a nickle back as well as a returner. What if they spread the guy as a burner receiver?

Not trying to steer my own thread down a single path... But, how many of us have said this every year for at least the last 6 years....?

Yep. For Sure. And yet Angelo never delivered a one and even when he tried he screwed up. Remember the non discovered injury to the guy they picked number one that other teams ran from like the plague? That certainly was one of my unfavorite Angelo moments for sure!

LOL, I think everyone of us.  I will give Emery the benefit of the doubt last season.  There were not many options as Free Agents last season for the LT position.  Won't let him off the hook in the draft.  While there were no bonafied studs available where we picked, instead of drafting another S in the 3rd round, should have taken a flyer on some offensive lineman.  If it is not addressed this offseason, it will be a HUGE black mark against Emery in my opinion.  Draft is deep in offensive lineman and Free Agency may also be a possibility based on who gets Franchised.

No good GM can look at anyone on this Bears roster who plays the offensive line and think we already have the answer at the LT position and we all know that it definitely is not Webb.
