Is he gonna be able to enter the draft? It was supposed to be announced today!
I know it hurts to lose a player as good and young as he is, LSU is losing almost a WHOLE TEAMS WORTH! really! most of LSUs will go in 1st two rounds too!
NATURE OF THE BEAST!
What NCAA team is getting hurt the worse thru all of the early graduations and what teams will not be asffected as much!
LSU is losing the numbers on D, but I think they will just reload, what do you think!
I did not think clowney was elligible to go pro due to the 3 yr rule. IMO, the question is whether or not Clowney will play for South Carolina this year or sit out the year to insure he does not get injured.
He is playing, but a recent article suggested it maybe in his best interest to sit out. He probably would be the #1 draft pick if eligible for this draft. It probably does make sense for him to sit out and simply train for the draft. After seeing what happened to Lattimore and Nerlens Noel, I would not blame him. This season could cost him a lot of money if he gets injured. There is no insurance for a guy who blows out a knee and slips to the 3rd round, only if he can never play again. It is actually a pretty tough call if you look at simply with logic. He will play, because of emotion.
He's lucky LSU is going to be beating up on Georgia this season instead of the Gamechickens !
You might wanna wait on that prediction. The Tigers play the Dawgs on the road and it might not be as easy as you think. Miles is famous for leaving the Offense in the valley when the team is on the road...Curious to see how the New LSU OC will do with Mett and his development before I will say anything.......
firstly, he cant leave and second, no he wont or shouldnt do what that moron from the Charlotte Observer suggested. Clowney should just play and wait till next year, it is what it is and the rules are there, he can deal with it, he's a tough guy, but if he took the year off, that does WAY more harm than good. a year off would lower his draft stock from 1st pick to likely pick 18 due to character, but Clowney's a good guy, so he will stay and if nothing happens to him that's drastic, he will be a VERY high pick.
I don't get that would help him being off of football for a season. Working out and pretending to be in game time situations is not the same thing. He's already going to have an entire season where the NFL "experts" are going to pick apart every single flaw in his game but have nothing to judge whether he corrected any small thing that is wrong. And besides, even if he is does risk it and does get hurt. How badly is that going to effect his draft stock with how great NFL doctors are? Wasn't Bradford still the number 1 pick? Didn't AP just have nearly a record breaking season? Unless he lays in bed until he signs his first contract he is risking an injury, an accident or something that "could drop his stock"
Clowney sits the sason out... Immediatey signs with an agent that gives him an insane wad of cash and a year of all expenses paid luxury... All Clowney has to do is eat cleanly, get enough sleep, hit the gym and not make any boneheaded mistakes...
Sure, he's a big, strong young man... Let's see how smart he is...
One hit... One twist... One slip in the shower and he could be destined to work at SAMS Warehouse or COSTCO for the rest of his life...
He doesn't need to play for The Heisman because it wont happen... He doesn't need to play for a Championship, because he'll get neither The SEC Championship or The BCS Championship...
Clowney... Don't be a clown !!! Eat, sleep and train for a year on the wallet of a bigtime agent !!! You'll thank me next April !!!
The risks are not the same and you know that. I am not suggesting he should sit. I m saying that it is a much tougher call than people think it is. People love to talk about Manning, but forget guys like Swilling and USC QB, (how can I forget that guy). In the end next season can only hurt his draft status. Sitting out might hurt it also.
I can understand the theory behind the thought. But it makes no sense at all for him to sit out, it will not improve his game, and like I said with everyone's expectation of him being the number 1 overall pick he will have one entire season of questions regarding his flaws. Much like Leinhart did except if Clowney doesn't play that could possibly put up a red flag. Obviously I can't speak for professional football players but I cannot imagine that would go over well if he entered a locker room where he quit on his team looking out for himself first. You earn your way into "getting yours" much like Chris Johnson and most the guys who hold out but he hasn't earned anything.
I know this will sound homer-istic lol BUT last season when the gamecocks came to Tiger Stadium, LSUs weak offense destroyed the gamecocks up front and ran right at Clowney all nite.
We all know the lsu O was weak at the QB position, not the OL and @ RB, but it still is curious I think. That whole line was all frosh and sophs, that game was their 1st as a unit, the veteran line all ended up injured or quiting.
CLOWNEY is the real deal, please dont think I am saying anything less. I just find it odd how that happens as much as it does in college ball.
I also think the LSU OL is the real deal as will be seen this season!
