I recently posted a mock on the main boards and wanted to know what fanbases thought about what their team will do with their 1st rd pick. I have the Eagles taking Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon for help in their linebacking, but that is just my opinion. They may trade down for all I know. What do you fans of Philly think they'll do at 4th overall?
Yeah, I hate to say it but I think the pick is Dion Jordan. After his combine workout he shot up. I really really dont understand why you dont take one of the two OT's that could soildify our line.
I really dont want Jordan with the 4th pick. Talk about a waste.
Well, not gonna retype everything, but Jordan is actually a really good fit for the hybrid defense the Eagles are looking to run. Line him up at DE in the 4-3 or at OLB in the 3-4 alignments.
4 is a little high. I'd like to see a trade back of a few spots for some team looking at Milliner. The only problem is how far can you drop. He is moving up, so if the Eagles really want him, they may have to stay put or risk losing him.
I'd be ok with a few options and I'll explain why:
Luke Joeckel- No brainer here, if Andy re-signs Branden Albert in KC they have no need for Joeckel and will take someone else.
Eric Fisher- If Chip thinks Fisher is athletic enough to be his guy and doesn't feel Jason Peters is coming back then I'm good with it.
Dee Millner- He silenced the critics who questioned he may not have the elite speed to play the physical style he played in college and not get burned. If we signed Sean Smith like rumored and signed Millner that would make a much bigger and more physical set of CB's then we've had in a while.
Dion Jordan- Like Weapon said, Billy Davis has hinted at using multiple fronts, and Dion Jordan is experienced at rushing the passer standing up and with his hand in the ground. He's also surprisingly good in coverage for someone as big as he is.

I am for any of these 3. In fact they are my top 3.
If none of those guys are on the board than I take Jarvis Jones. I think hands down best OLB
And I love Chance Warmack. Any of these 5 and I am happy.
I personally doh't want Millner at #4. I just don't think that he is that elite type prospect worthy of that pick. In fact the only guys I felt worthy of being taken that high in the first place were Joeckel and Star. With Star falling because of his heart condition and virtually no chance of Joeckel falling to #4 the best course of action isto move down because I don't really think there is a whole lot of difference in talent with the next 15 prospects or so. I'd really like to pick up an extra 2nd rd pick or so and take Star or Lane Johnson.
Me too, you got a love a guard walking around the combine with all these muscled up star postion players, then you Warmack walking around with the beer gut, telling you hes got all the making for a great guard in the NFL, but:
As the loyal draft guys tell us every year, "the pick is not valued for that guard that high," and as much as I hate to admit there correct, they are, the NFL has some sick frickn values and traditions, and it still pisses me off that a guard, the best of the big uglies doesnt get valued as a top five pick!
Oh and Jordan with the fourth pick, is a replay of the Jets taking Vernon Golston a few years back with that same pick!
I'd really like to pick up an extra 2nd rd pick or so and take Star or Lane Johnson.
I have to watch old college games on youtube on my ipad in order to fall asleep at night. Lately I have been on an SEC kick watching all the great games these past 3 years. There is tons of talent thats going to fall to the 2nd, so I agree with this philosophy.
The DT from Alabama was an unstoppable force against LSU last year. What was his name bish? Jesse something, I havent looked him up yet but he might be a great pick as a DE in a 3-4.
I dislike Jordan at the 4th pick for a different reason and the only one that really matters...I don't view him as an elite prospect and tnere are many players of similar talent at the same position that may be taken as far as a round later. I like him as a player, but to take him at #4? Nah. I view him as closer to a mid 1st rd talent.

The Australian kid, Jesse Williams. I like him, think he'll be a solid pro. I don't think he'll ever offer much in the pass rush department but he's a big strong dude. The only knock is that he's got YOLO tattooed on his face, and that's embarassing.

Well if they draft him and install him at the "nose" in this 4-3 "under" defense, (please refrence my thread about 3-4 switch, did I sound like Bob Oh and his hype about articles?) the prime job for the nose is to "eat up space" and shield for ISLB and there is a DE/LB titled the preditor that is basiclly assigned to rush the QB....
