Delanie Walker -  would be the starting TE on a lot of teams his versatility will allow the Titans to come out in multiple forms when we go 3 wide. Its a good signing.

Shonne Green - Paid too much for him yes. However if CJ goes down, holds out, or doesnt get motivated we just signed a powerback who is 27 years old and doesnt have a lot of wear and tear. It beats the crap out of having a bust at backup running back who is coming off ACL and its better than Fat albert 2.0 in Harper.

Sammie Lee Hill - Sammie Lee Hill could start for some teams, as he does a decent job of pressuring the quarterback. He just hasn't had much of a chance in Detroit because he's been behind Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and Corey Williams on the depth chart.

Adding to the Shonn Greene topic. I can also see the Titans lining him up at tailback and splittng CJ2K out wide. I would expect to see alot more creative ways to get our top skill players (CJ2K, Kendall Wright) in the right matchups. Greene may take some carries from Johnson, but in terms of total touches, Johnson's stays the same.

Titans re-signed KR Darius Reynaud to a one-year contract.

Filling in for an injured Marc Mariani last season, Reynaud
was one of the top returners in the league. Reynaud averaged 13.2 yards on
punts, and 23.4 yards on kicks. Mariani's fate is unclear as he recovers from a
severe leg break. Source: Terry McCormick on Twitter

I would think this is the end for Marc Mariani. We discussed this, at the end of the season and I thought they would keep Mariani and release Reynaud. This tells me that Mariani still might not be fully recovered.

The Titans reportedly want newly signed Moise Fokou to challenge Colin
McCarthy for the starting middle linebacker position.

The talent gap between McCarthy and Fokou is gaping. The
problem is that McCarthy has missed 12 games due to injury in his first two NFL
seasons. Fokou will at least be prepared to step in as the "Mike" if injury
issues crop up again. In the meantime, he'll be a quality special teamer. Related: [Moise
Fokou]Source: [Nashville Tennessean ]

It looks as if the front office wants to push the injured to try and stay healthy. It also adds some protection if they do.

Ill just have to hope for the best on this one.

The Titans view new DT Sammie Lee Hill as a three-down player.

Hill played just 419 snaps for the Lions last season, and only
437 in 2011. The Titans also view Hill as more of a run-stuffer than pass
rusher. Hill is a defensive tackle, but has always been better at creating
pressure than plugging gaps. To date, the Titans have had a curious offseason. Source: [Nashville Tennessean ]

I am hoping they signed him to build depth and not to start. I still say they should take Dt Star Lotulelei or OG Chance Warmack.

Shonn Greene said he is "fine" with his role as Chris Johnson's
backup.

Although the Titans overpaid Greene to the tune of
three-years, $10M with $4.5M guaranteed, they're not trying to start a committee
backfield. "I know this is C.J's backfield," said Greene. "I am just here
willing to help this team get wins. I am completely fine with that." Expect the
majority of his carries to come in short-yardage and goal-line situations. Source: [Nashville Tennessean ]

Titans agreed to terms with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, formerly of the Bills, on a
two-year contract.

The Titans trade out 37-year-old Matt Hasselbeck for
30-year-old Fitzpatrick. Although obviously more talented than Hasselbeck at
this stage of their respective careers, Fitzpatrick isn't a threat to Jake
Locker's job. FitzMagic will take most of the first-team reps this spring as
Locker recovers from shoulder surgery. Fitzpatrick started all 16 games for the
Bills in 2012, completing 60.6 percent of his passes for 3,400 yards, 24
touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He also lost six fumbles. The numbers don't
look bad, but "FitzMagic" has a backup-caliber arm and is prone to
mind-bogglingly poor decision making. He's still an upgrade on Hasselbeck as a
potential Locker fill-in. Related: [Bills]Source: [Adam Schefter on Twitter ]

Titans agreed to terms with G/C Rob Turner, formerly of the Rams.

Turner started all 16 games for the Rams last season, spending
seven games at left guard and nine in place of an injured Scott Wells at center.
He played 1,084 snaps after missing all of 2011 with a broken leg. Turner fared
better at center than guard, but will likely compete for the Titans' right guard
job. Ideally, he'd be a reserve and not a starter. Related: [Rams]

Fitzpatrick isn't a threat to Jake
Locker's job.
Maybe not at the moment, But he will push Locker thats for sure....With Fitz' big arm....Locker better not let Fitz get a shot....

Only reason I give it to Locker is his athletic ability....Fitz is more of a pocket passer where Locker can run if needed..

Ppersonally, a guy with a arm as big as Fitz', put Cj with him and Walker, Wright, and Britt to throw to...Locker could find himself on the bench in a flash....He better have improved from last year....

Turner is a good pick up.  Seems like a quality and versital OL ... and we really need a depth/competition at Center.  I wish we could snag a bonofide awesome talented vet like we did with Kevin Mawae.

Fitz is a great back up. Better than Hass at this point in their careers and a lot cheaper.  Fitz can start.  I don't want him as our starter but he can do it and I hope Locker knows that.

I would not be shocked if the Titans pulled a crazy ivan and picked Cordarrelle Patterson with their first round pick ... especially if they are able to trade down.

The best part I read about the Turner signing......he started 16 games last year.  Durability is a huge plus for any team.  Great signing.

Oh my look what you started. I would be ecstatic if they took Patterson. The knock on him is that he needs work on route running and be more polished, but as a VOL fan, I can tell you that he is absolutely electric with the ball and has terrific vision. When you can lead the SEC in all-purpose yardage for a season, you have accomplished something. I personally think they will take OG Chance Warmack or DT Star Lotulelei, but if they do pull a shocker, I hope that Patterson is it. If he had stayed at Tennessee for his senior season, I truly believe he could have been a Heisman contender.

Lot of good pickups but i hope they dont think Turner is going to be the Starter. I still would like to see them just go with a young top center in the draft and be done with it hopefully. Starting to think the pick could be on defense.

Hey Titan77 - I'm suprised you have not posted the Bernard Pollard signing.

I think that is a great pick up for us.  He is an awsome SS when it comes to defending the run.  I have read that he is a bit of libility in the passing game but 2 years ago he had 13 passes defended that is quite impressive.

He's a hard hitting guy who can dislodge the ball ... I like that!

Its been a long day, between work and my son's first baseball practice of season. I am just now settling down for the day, but here is what you have been looking for......

Titans signed SS Bernard Pollard, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year
contract.

Pollard is one of the most fearsome head-hunters in the league
and led the Ravens in tackles last year, but there's a reason he's on his fourth
team in seven years. Previous reports stated the 28-year-old is a problem in the
locker room and nearly staged a mutiny in Baltimore last year. He also struggles
mightily in coverage, where ProFootballFocus ranked him 68th among 85 qualifying
safeties. Pollard will give the Titans some toughness as he steps in ahead of
George Wilson opposite Michael Griffin, but there's more name than game here. Source: Josina Anderson on Twitter

I agree he will bring fierce hiitng mentality to the team. This is something we have needed for sometime. I just hope he is not a locker room problem, like was reported. I think the signing of him and Wilson, added to Griffin, gives us one the best safety groups in the league.

He seems to last 2 years on a team ... we got him for 1.  I think he is a great bandaid for that position until we can develop someone from the draft.  George Wilson is supposedly a locker room champion so hopefully that will counteract Pollards possible bad attitude.  And a hard hitting ruthless tackler is what the Titans do not have.  Not an every down SS ... Wilson and Pollard will split a lot of time depending on game situation.

The attitude of a fierce hitting defense that we have needed around here.

Wasn't a huge fan of the Wilson signing, even less of a fan of this one. We need a safety that can COVER. Neither of these guys can. Both are stopgap measures. Hope we draft Vaccaro at 10.

Looking forward to Titan77's post on the

Ropati Pitoitua

signing.  I only made the text so big cause he is 6-8 & 315 lbs ... this guy has monster size.  Bigger than most OTs.  Sounds like an exciting player to say the least.  has not been that productive in the NFL (probably due to missing 2010 to injury) but it seems like he has a lot of potential.  I like the signing.  What do you guys think?
