A Kansas City Chiefs player died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday morning at the team's training facility, Kansas City Police Communications Supervisor Kathy Childs said.
The shooting occured at 7:50 a.m. local time at the team's facility near Arrowhead Stadium, Childs said. She said police know the name of the player, but declined to release his name since the shooting was still under investigation.
Police also said another shooting off-site was linked to the shooting.
The Chiefs have released a statement in regard to the incident:
"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."
The Chiefs are scheduled to play host to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Hi Hawks. I have 61 points so far. All I need is 69 points from RG III and Alfred Morris tonight against the NY Giants and I win. Congrats on your win this week. d2w
Charlie - hey I'm hearing what you are saying about Bradford needing some O-line and WR help. But do you think Luck has it any better? He's making those WR's look good. I actually think the Rams offense is more talented than the Colts offense, just Bradford isn't that good. He's slow on his reads and he has NO moves to escape a rush towards the pocket.
It seems as though you have "Prez" on your mind all the time. Why does "Prez" dominate your thoughts?
Pres reminds me of my ex lady's (one of the Twins) chawaawaa. He's thinks he's dominating by humping my leg, but he's just getting himself all wound up.
