OFFICIAL LSU vs OSU "Eat Crow" THREAD!!!

Theory is based on history, my friend.  We have 7 rings, you have 3, I believe (was last night 4?).  History always repeats itself.  I have to congratulate Dorsey and the other seniors for staying in school, whil Ginn and Gonzolez where in street clothes watching.  As a college fan, that pleases me.

I give it up for that, much like I gave it up to the Florida Bball team with noah, horford, brewer, etc.  They all could have bailed, and didn't.  Then to pour salt in the wound, Oden and conley leave after one year.

Until OSU figures out how to keep more kids for 4 years, there will be more heartbreaking losses due to inexperience, just like last night.

He actually had legitimate Brain surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio to remove a non-cancerous tumor, I believe.  This xplains a lot.

OSU fans. I am not here to bash as we can dissagree and then discuss the finer points. I cannot put myself in your shoes but, I am sure it is difficult and i give you the respect you deserve to come back to this thread. But we do need to discuss the merits of the game.

Understood.  Don't get me wrong.  There's nothing wrong with gloating.  It just seems like all of the sudden after we've admitted that LSU and the SEC were better this year, now we are going back to where it has to be "dominant".  Just kind of frustrating for those of us who are owning up to our loss.

BuckeyeTodd, a DNA test would show we all are 'cassellion' to some degree. The response was to another post when a guy said the refs gave this game to LSU. Those bullets points may seem a ittle harsh, but as an LSU fan, I saw it like that. Maybe I can temper the tone of my responses but I also have to be honest. I could be wrong?

I don't know about "casselion".  We're all homers to some degree, but "casselion" is pretty far out there.  That would be a poster saying OSU lost because of the refs (I don't remember who it was).  Come on the boards.  Eat your crow.  Admit you lost to a better team, and take your lumps. 

Lets meet him halfway and allow a LSU/OSU combo NCG avatar, That would be fine with me. That LSU avatar throws me off, I see the avatar, read the post and then have to go looking for his name before it all adds up.

No way.  A wager is a wager.  I still have to find out what avatar bayoubengal1 wants me to use.  This is just the first of many I'm sure.  Believe me I would want to see you in Scarlet and Grey for as long as possible if OSU would have won.  I'm not cheesing out and taking the low road.

BTW--Did anyoone see Steve Rehring last night. I sawe him standing up, a lot, with a Tiger running right by him...or I saw him false starting. Wow! Hate to point out an O-lineman, but WTF???

That's a great observation Bismark.  He was trash all night.  I've never been high on him, but last night he was definitely the weak link in the armor on the O-line.

Dorsey didn't have huge stats, but a two gap DT doesn't have to in order to dominate.  You can tell he is going to be a solid player at the next level.  If Miami doesn't take him #1 they are crazy.  That type of player can change the dynamic of your team, and open things up for the rest of the front seven. 

Miami couldn't stop the run to save their lives either.  I think Dorsey helps change that more than any other player at any other position in their situation.

BuckEyeTodd is a great guy, and he does have class. But he made the bet with me! No way is he getting out of that one...haha...I have a fresh one for you Bro.

I do have to say that most of the OSU fans I met last night were really fun guys and girls to watch the game with. Hopefully they will go home with a better experience than some of the others that were treated like crap.

OSU lost this game for one reason and one reason only. Turnovers due to inexperience. Only two seniors on this team. Not a bad showing for a bunch of underclassmen. A bunch of underclassmen that made that supposed SEC "speed" look pretty damn slow at times.

wizkid, let it go. 31 UNANSWERED points is considered DOMINATING. Be gracious in your loss and you'll see that the Tigers fans are gracious in victory.

It's funny to read all of these uneducated posts.  LSU didn't have more speed, and the SEC isn't a superior conference. Each year certain conferences are going to be up and down and this year the Big Ten is down. OSU didn't lose last night because of lack of speed, the lost it because they got pushed around up front and Boeckman missed alot of open guys.  What bothers me as an OSU fan is that Tressel was outcoached by a piss poor Les Miles. They didn't attack enough on defense and they never slowed the defensive rush on offense by throwing any screen passes or any draw plays.

Back to the ridiculous argument that the SEC has more speed than the Big Ten. One of the reason's you people think they are faster in the South is because all of their games are indoors or outside in perfect conditions. Where as in the Big Ten, most of their games are in bad weather outdoors. Did you see anyone catch Beanie Wells on that 65 yard TD run? Did you see that Illinois player catch Joe McKnight 50 yards downfield in the Rose Bowl? Or Mario Manningham running past the Florida DB's in their bowl game? You people need to watch a little more college football before you start saying some pretty ignorant things.

because they only look at their schedules and the one from this year which i admit turned up being weaker than even thought it was going to be cause i thought washington wasa going to be a bit of a better team than they ended up being plus they only remember what benifits their theroies on who is the better confrence or weather big ten teams only scheduale easy non confrence game in order to have high win totals but i do belive that scheduales are made out two or three years in advance so that some of the non div 2 teams that they played might have been what they thought would be good  quality opp at the time the scheduales were made up but they will probaly call that just an excuse or say that i am out right liar which couldn't be farther from the truth But after ther game is now over i will give my congrats to a very good LSU team and to the fans

My congrats goes out to LSU as well as the SEC nation, you once again proved that you are the superior conference right now.  Being a Big Ten alum I am disappointed in the bowl results (Big Ten went 3-5), but I will take the results like a man...No excuses, you guys are better than us... 

I am very optimistic about the Big Ten over the next 5 years:

Ohio State: Went to 3 National Title games in the BCS era, they will continue to be a powerhouse by getting all the top recruits, and I predict they win it all by 2010.

Michigan: New coaching will only help this household name of a program, as recruits across the country will always consider Ann Arbor.  They will also schedule better games early in the season.

Wisconsin: Bret Bealman has built a strong program that, although not quite up to the caliber as Mich / OSU is headed in the right direction.

Illinois: Probably the most promising for next year, Coach Ron Zook has brought the SEC philosophy into the Big Ten, including a whole slew of recruits lined up that will make the Illini a major football program for the next 10 years.

Although the SEC will probably also continue to improve, I think the playing field will be more level in years to come.

LSU won and you worthless nuts better start chewing that crow.

It is amazing to me the number of excuses being thrown around about the game last night. One excuse was where the game was played, it seems to me the same result happened last year in the desert where both teams had to travel. A second excuse was that Ohio State was a team full of underclassmen against a team full of seniors, that didn't seem to matter throughout the year. (Where was this excuse against the Illini?) I could go on and on about the excuses that have been bantered around on this message board. Why don't we talk about the reasons the game ended like it did? I for one don't think speed (a supposed SEC advantage) had a lot to do with it. Granted the SEC is fast compared to most conferences but this can only be related to the teams as a whole, not individual player to individual player. ( I have no problem admitting Chris Wells is going to make a whole lot of money one day) I think the whole game boiled down to two main areas of concern: 1. LSU went through the fire week in and week out all year long in the SEC (where yes even LSU has to take Ole Miss seriously) and had survived scarred but intact enough to make a run at the championship. Those scars proved to LSU's players that they could get down 10-0 and still have a chance at winning. 2. LSU played a much smarter game than Ohio State did both on the field and on the sidelines. (I am not saying Les Miles is a better coach that Jim Tressel) What I am saying is that LSU did what it took to win and had to do that all year long. Ohio State was presented with this situation in a hostile environment and were not up to the task of getting the job done when it really counted. What I want to see now is how long it takes for Ohio State to be back in the top five next year after two disappointing showings in two years in the BIG GAME? I really know of only three other programs that could get away with what Ohio State has gotten away with for two years with the voters, Notre Dame ( in their heyday), USC, and Michigan. Any other team in any other conference would have to fight and fight hard to regain any respect at all given the same set of circumstances.
