the whole premise of the discussion was based on rules that changed to make passing easier for pocket passers, so the debate was about rules changing to make passing tougher, giving defenses more time to defend, and how that would change the way the game is played at the QB position...

That was hardly the WHOLE conversation.  Otherwise, we wouldn't be talking about Heisman voting, who could run the zone-read (which YOU said there were only 3-4 that could), etc, etc, etc, and of course, black vs whtie QBs somehow made its way into the conversation, no idea how that's related to rules changes.

...if you followed the exchange between me and Schick, you should have easily understood the posts..

..calling out what may seem like racist behavior isn't playing the race card...its calling it the way you feel about it...if you fall into that old, angry white male mentality, then sure, you have an issue with Rice, and now the Black pundits too...what else is new??

I proposed a dynamic schedule for college football with no conferences a few years ago on here.  I was told it was impractical, but I still like the idea.

Each team opens the season against the same team every year (the geographically closest team, for the most part) and alternates home and away.
If the home team wins they go on the road to face the next geographically closest 1-0 team, the visiting team that lost goes and plays at home the geographically closest 0-1 team, etc.
Relatively equally matched teams with the best playing the best at the end of the year guaranteed, and possibly multiple times. 

For the people watching at home, I think it would be a great idea.

For the people that actually go to the games, not as much.  If I understand this correctly - a team that played at home would be on the road the next week - but wouldn't know where until all games during the week had been played?

That would be a nightmare, logistically, for travelling players, and probably the teams as well.

I get the idea though - there would be no better way to ensure top teams play eachother.

Bottom line-  they won't say it on MSNBC but-  Obama didn't fight for her. 

By all accounts, she was Obama's close personal buddy who was groomed to be Sec. State. 

But Obama blinked.  The GOP scared him off.

Embattled U.N. envoy Susan Rice is dropping out of the running to be the next secretary of state after months of criticism over her Benghazi comments, she told NBC News on Thursday.

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects.

“That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country...Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time,” she wrote in the letter obtained by NBC News



This is ugly (boom, take that!) partisan politics pretty much at its worst.  No reason why she shouldn't continue her bid for Sec of State.  Silly game you partisans play.  Very silly indeed.
